Lynton Jellis
Lynton Jellis, also known as Lyn, was a human historian who worked on Tysir IV in the 27th century. He was also a supporter of the United Polon Independence Party.

When the robot diggers on Tysir IV uncovered artificial materials during preparations for mining work north of Tysir IV's equator, Lynton successfully hacked into the systems of a Cyber-base which had accidentally been discovered by the robot miners, and learnt of both the base's nature and the Cyber-Plague stored within it. Hoping to acquire the Cyber-Plague and give it to the United Polon Independence Party so that they could forcefully win their campaign, Lynton lured Bernice Summerfield into a trap, recruiting her to assist him in opening the Cyber-base, whilst hiding his true intentions as to why; furthermore, Lynton also set up numerous explosives around the Cyber-base and sealed Bernice inside the base to ensure that she would die when his explosives detonated and destroyed the Cyber-base, with Bernice still trapped inside, while he escaped with the Cyber-Plague.
However, Lynton himself fell victim to a further trap devised by the Cybermen stored within the Cyber-base; unaware that the Cyber-Plague was spread through physical contact, he inadvertently infected himself by touching the outside of the vial which the virus was stored in, and as a result, he died in the lobby of the Cyber-base, just before the base's front doors. Bernice Summerfield and a sole Cyberman found his corpse only a few minutes later, and Bernice stole the deceased Lynton's gun to escape the Cyber-base while simultaneously trapping the Cybermen inside as Lynton's explosives detonated. When recording a message to Irving Braxiatel, Jason Kane and Adrian Wall from Medic Station Alpha, Bernice Summerfield described Lynton Jellis as a short, "prematurely" balding man with a moustache, who wore a pair of rimmed spectacles and frequently sweated. Previously, when Bernice arrived on Tysir IV to meet Lynton, the latter also wore a bag. (AUDIO: Silver Lining)

Lynton Jellis was an individual who was strongly motivated by his political views. As a loyal supporter of the United Poland Independence Party, he was willing to assist them in their goals through whatever means necessary, even if doing so came at the cost of countless innocent lives. Lynton also possessed a notable degree of intelligence, as he was able to hack into the computer systems of the Cyber-base on Tysir IV, thereby leading him to learn of the Cyber-Plague, and additionally set up numerous explosives around the Cyber-base without anyone else noticing. Lynton was also particularly knowledgeable of Tysir IV and the mining work that occurred there, due to his job as a historian on the planet. He also valued his safety enough to constantly carry a gun around with him, claiming to Bernice Summerfield whilst revealing his trap for her that "the universe [was] a dangerous place".
Lynton was also a particularly deceptive individual, as he was able to trick Bernice Summerfield into assisting him in opening up the Cyber-base on Tysir IV while concealing his true intentions and full degree of knowledge of the planet's Cyber-base; indeed, when first entering the base, Lynton lied to Bernice that he thought the Cybermen were extinct in the 27th century, and convinced Bernice that he was an "idiot" for supposedly ignoring her warnings not to touch anything in the Cyber-base in case he accidentally set off an alarm.
In particular, whilst manipulating Bernice into granting him access to the Cyber-base, Lynton was able to convince her that he was a big fan of her archaeological research, such as by meeting her with almost all of his copies of her books, convincing Bernice to sign said books with her autograph, being eager to discuss her research and numerous queries he had about it, and insisting to Bernice that he explicitly recommended her to his board for the job of investigating the supposedly-unknown discovery of the Cyber-base on Tysir IV, with Lynton claiming to Bernice that he knew that she would not allow herself to be pressured into manipulating the truth of the discovery for the benefit of the mining corporation Lynton worked for. Additionally, Lynton also maintained the façade of being dedicated to the job his superiors had supposedly assigned him, insisting to Bernice that he was required to stay with her at all times during her work on Tysir IV. Bernice herself came to feel particularly irritated by Lynton's false personality as a result of these factors.
However, Lynton was not unsusceptible to being deceived himself, as his plan to steal the Cyber-Plague from the Cyber-base on Tysir IV failed due to him not realising that the virus killed humans specifically on contact; this resulted in Lynton ironically being killed by the very weapon he intended to be used for the mass murdering of countless innocent people only a few minutes after he acquired it, as part of a larger-scale plan devised by the Cybermen on Tysir IV.
