New Berlin

In an alternate timeline in which Nazi Germany won World War II through Adolf Hitler's control of the Timewyrm, the capital city of Berlin was rebuilt into New Berlin, the very heart of the Third Reich.

Design of the city[[edit] | [edit source]]

Hitler's Master Architect, Albert Speer, redesigned the city in a Neo-Nazi Classical Style. Much of the construction was carried out by slave labour, including able-bodied British males forced into the so-called Voluntary Labour Force. During the Nazi-organised Festival of Britain in 1951, photographs of the Labour Force working on New Berlin were on display.

Hitler was conflicted on whether to reconstruct London in Occupied Britain in the same style or to destroy the city so it could not compete with New Berlin. By 1951, Hitler grew more unstable and aggressive due to the presence of the Timewyrm and demanded Speer's construction efforts be accelerated.

Many British artefacts from the Reichsmuseum in London were transported to the Adolf Hitler Museum in New Berlin on the whim of Hermann Goering. Joseph Goebbels history, The Thousand Year Reich - The Glorious Beginning, was published in New Berlin in 1947. (PROSE: Timewyrm: Exodus)

Original timeline[[edit] | [edit source]]

In the original timeline, later restored by the Seventh Doctor, (PROSE: Timewyrm: Exodus) Berlin was ravaged by the Red Army towards the end of the European war in April 1945, (PROSE: The Shadow in the Glass) and partitioned into East and West Berlin by the Soviet Union, the United States, the United Kingdom and France after Germany's surrender. The two halves became separated by the Berlin Wall. (AUDIO: Protect and Survive, The Anachronauts)
