Story notes[[edit] | [edit source]]

  • Considering the framing device of the the comic collection this was originally published in focusing on the "birth" of the first female Doctor, the title of this story was likely intended as a direct poke at a common slogan used by eristic opponents of the concept of the Doctor undergoing a sex change regeneration; "it’s Doctor Who, not Nurse Who!". If it is to be taken this way, the deliberate mocking irony is apparent, since the slogan implies that women cannot be doctors, only nurses, and this story focuses on a real word pioneering woman doctor.
