A planet at least partly covered in sand was the location of the Gardens of the Dead. When visiting the planet with Nyssa, Tegan Jovanka, and Vislor Turlough, the Fifth Doctor recommended taking supplies as nothing survived on the planet. (AUDIO: Gardens of the Dead)
