Power cut

A power cut was a loss of connection to electricity.

Sometime in the 1970s, there were several consecutive power cuts. People "took advantage of the dark", and many people had sex on these days. As a result, nine months later, there was a "baby boom". (TV: The Gathering [+]Loading...["The Gathering (TV story)"])

On 16 November, 1996, a power cut occurred at the Tripod nightclub in Dublin just before the "spontaneous" first concert of the girl group later known as the Blood Honeys. When Donna Noble had the Tenth Doctor take her to see the concert, the Doctor ended up causing the power cut after being confronted by a psiren who was manipulating the band. Another such power outage occurred during the Miracle while Gwen Cooper was trying to do research. She and Rhys Williams too "took advantage of the dark". (TV: The Gathering [+]Loading...["The Gathering (TV story)"])
