Progress chart
A progress chart was used by the First Monk to keep track of his plot to change the course of history by enabling Saxon King Harold Godwinson to defeat the Normans led by William the Conqueror at the Battle of Hastings in 1066. Believing that for Harold to win would "improve things", the Monk planned to avert the earlier Battle of Stamford Bridge by destroying the Viking King Harald Hardrada's invasion fleet, allowing Godwinson to focus on the Normans.
The progess chart had eight numbered steps: "arrival in Northumbria", "position atomic cannon", "sight Vikings", "light beacon fires", "destroy Viking fleet", "Norman landing", "Battle of Hastings" and "meet King Harold". (TV: The Time Meddler)
