Plot[[edit] | [edit source]]

The Doctor meets Lady Clara Oswald and soon realises that she is not the person he is looking for. After accidentally insulting her, he is escorted out by a butler who turns out to be a robot lying in wait for him.

Returning to the TARDIS, the Doctor continues his search. He visits a planet he knows will burn after somebody murders themself, saves somebody from the Rocket Men and enters a warzone. He also encounters UNIT, telling Brigadier Bambera to keep him out of any official reports but allowing Dr Rix to keep his details in case of another emergency.

Noticing the letters RYCBAR outside of a building and remembering that both Oswin Oswald and Clara Oswin Oswald said "run you clever boy and remember", the Doctor enters and learns that it is the Regal Yacht Club Bar. He goes on to officiate a wedding between a sentient concept and a hyperintelligent squid in return for a peek at their guest list and puts a stop to the Carnival of the Damned, allowing people to be reunited with their souls and depart.

The Doctor makes a call to the Bandril Empire for information without success and, on the suggestion of somebody he shows Clara's picture to, calls River. River, who is on a date with his past or future self, does not tell him anything. The Doctor asks the universe for a sign and receives a message asking for help as the Earth is in danger; he goes to assist, hoping that the message is from Clara or someone who might have information on her.
