Roger Moore was an English actor who played the eponymous British secret agent in the James Bond film series during the 1970s and the 1980s.
On a visit to the Soviet Union in November 1967, Ace anachronistically referred to Moore as the current James Bond during a conversation with her fellow Briton Markus Creevy. Creevy told her that Moore starred in the television series The Saint while Sean Connery played Bond. (AUDIO: Thin Ice)
One of the films in which Moore played Bond was available for viewing in the projector room of the Snowcap in Antarctica in December 1986. (PROSE: Doctor Who and the Tenth Planet)

The career paths of Terry Nation and Moore intersected on occasion. Nation wrote a handful of scripts for The Saint and The Persuaders!, two of Moore's best-remembered television outings. Moore was also interviewed on the radio documentary The Terry Nation Story.
In 2013, Moore told Mark Gatiss via Twitter that he would like to have a guest-starring appearance on Doctor Who or Sherlock. Gatiss responded enthusiastically,[1] but an appearance never happened before Moore's passing in 2017.
