* The character shares his name with actor [[Barnaby Edwards (actor)|Barnaby Edwards]], a longtime contributor to the [[Big Finish Productions]] audio dramas line, who also is one of the TV series' main [[Dalek operator]]s, as well as with Barnaby Edwards of the ''Regeneration Theatre'' New York amateur theatre troupe. Asked about it on Twitter, [[Tony Lee]] explained that the character was initially meant to be a reference to the theatre director only, but that, upon realising Edwards had a namesake in the long-time Big Finish actor, it was decided to draw the character with the Big Finish actor's likeness, so that "that way, both are honored".<ref>https://twitter.com/mrtonylee/status/1237633724226945024</ref>
