History[[edit] | [edit source]]

In 2015, Alice Obiefune attended a support group of companions, some of whom were apparently still traveling with their Doctors. (COMIC: The Meeting [+]Loading...["The Meeting (comic story)"])

In 2022, a support group of former companions was joined for a session by Ian Chesterton, Jo Jones, Tegan Jovanka, Melanie Bush, Ace, Kate Stewart, Graham O'Brien, Yasmin Khan and Dan Lewis as well as having a laptop set up for (TV: The Power of the Doctor [+]Loading...["The Power of the Doctor (TV story)"]) Ryan Sinclair, Martha Jones and Jackie Tyler to participate remotely. (PROSE: Recurring Threats: The Daleks [+]Loading...{"page":"25","1":"Recurring Threats: The Daleks (short story)"}) Yaz, the most recent addition at the time, had just parted company with the Thirteenth Doctor following the Master's Dalek Plan and was introduced to the group by Dan and Graham.

Kate Stewart offered the attendees work with UNIT, (TV: The Power of the Doctor [+]Loading...["The Power of the Doctor (TV story)"]) which Melanie Bush accepted. (TV: The Giggle [+]Loading...["The Giggle (TV story)"]) UNIT had a tradition of helping the Doctor's former companions, (TV: 73 Yards [+]Loading...["73 Yards (TV story)"]) which included Wilfred Mott. (TV: The Star Beast [+]Loading...["The Star Beast (TV story)"])

After Ryan joined, Ian told the other members his adventures involving a world of giant ants, Marco Polo, Robespierre, Richard the Lionheart, Emperor Nero, the rocket men, his second encounter with prehistoric cavemen, the Salem witch trials, the Venusians and the Zomites, his relationship with Barbara, and his travels to the 22nd century, the 25th century and London 1965.

After his passing, they group met up and reminisced about him and the adventures he told them about. However, Graham and Tegan didn't believe that Ian was truly dead, as, as a time traveller, he was still out there, across time. Behind the scenes[[edit] | [edit source]]

  • In the original script for The Power of the Doctor, the laptop was meant to be for either Jackie Tyler, Martha Jones or Ryan Sinclair.[1]
    • All three of these individuals who later be confirmed to be members in Loose Ends 5: Ian Memoriam [+]Loading...["Loose Ends 5: Ian Memoriam (short story)"] and Recurring Threats: The Daleks [+]Loading...{"page":"25","1":"Recurring Threats: The Daleks (short story)"}. Jackie Tyler's return to the Doctor's universe is seemingly unexplained, but the short story Judge, Jury and Executioner [+]Loading...{"page":"186-205","1":"Judge, Jury and Executioner (short story)"} had already seen Jackie's extraction without a clear resolution, thus explaining the matter.
  • Anneke Wills had been invited to return as Polly Wright to take part in the group scene but was unavailable. She later remarked, "I heard it was quite brief so I’m glad I stayed and did my brambles instead.".[2]
