Talk:Hagia Sofia

From Tardis Wiki, the free Doctor Who reference

Why was this removed from Category:Churches from the real world? Surely it is the case that a real-world building which was a church from the real-world year 360 to 1453 should be mentioned in a real-world category? WarDocFan12 15:00, 28 May 2024 (UTC)

Because it has only been mentioned in context of Doctor Who from an in-universe perspective. if there had been filming there, or it was mentioned as inspiration for a set design, et cetera, et cetera, in a way that could be cited as an out of universe source, then it could be in Category:Churches from the real world. That's not how those categories work? The point is that they're churches which originate from the real world, you're suggesting it to be more akin to Category:Filming locations. Cookieboy 2005 16:00, 28 May 2024 (UTC)
@Gingerfool See T:FTRW. That is an in-universe category. Aquanafrahudy 📢 🖊️ 16:30, 28 May 2024 (UTC)
I believe under current policy, it has to be referred to as a church in an in-universe source before it can be placed in that category. The page currently says "temple", and its current status irl is a mosque. But if the source in question really does say temple, it should be in, or a "Temples from the real world" category, if warranted. Danochy 05:06, 29 May 2024 (UTC)
Current IRL status, as controversial as it is, doesn't matter, we still say that Nixon is a US President from the real world. It's just the IU source issue. Najawin 05:18, 29 May 2024 (UTC)
Yes, I didn't mean to imply it matters. Though, in hindsight, it is superfluous information. Danochy 10:56, 29 May 2024 (UTC)
