Call the Midwife cast: the actors or the characters?

Should the four Call the Midwife actors be considered as the actors themselves (while just being in costume), or the actual characters they play in the show? WaltK ☎ 01:48, 3 January 2023 (UTC)

Ah — no, sorry about the confusion. See the third bullet point at Tardis:Temporary forums/Archive/Trailers#Specifics. It breaks the fourth wall and was thus postponed to the relevant section of the Speedround. It's not invalid as an ad, just as a story which treats the Doctor as a "living fictional character" who just casually exists in a BBC backlot; that is, to my eyes, it doesn't take place in the DWU any more than Who Framed Roger Rabbit takes place in the Dumbo universe. It features some kind of meta version of the character. One might disagree, but I thought it was worth discussing beyond the purely commercial question, hence putting it off to the second thread.
