Talk:Melody Malone: Private Detective in Old New York Town
Full name of book[[edit source]]
To answer the question in the rename tag; maybe. I don't think you could discern the title of the book alone from the episode the front of the book only appears in a handful of frames of the episode and then it's only kinda legible. But knowing what it's meant to say you can sort of confirm what it's meant to be based on the background info.
If anyone doesn't think this is enough then we can move it to just Melody Malone or Melody Malone (book) in case we want Melody Malone (fictional character) for the character of Melody Malone from this and The Angel's Kiss: A Melody Malone Mystery. Or we can keep the full title and have a {{conjecture}} tag on the article. --Tangerineduel / talk 06:08, October 31, 2012 (UTC)
- She's not strictly a fictional character within the DWU. If anything Melody Malone would be a redirect to River Song. -- Tybort (talk page) 12:21, October 31, 2012 (UTC)
Maybe we should just name it after the ebook they released. You know? That's the best in-universe source for a title. OS25 (talk to me, baby.) 01:27, November 6, 2012 (UTC)
- But is it in-universe? The ebook's marketed as a DW novel, but it's presented as an in-universe novel. --Tangerineduel / talk 04:17, November 6, 2012 (UTC)
- It's no different from Who Killed Kennedy. OS25 (talk to me, baby.) 04:31, November 6, 2012 (UTC)
- The in-universe book and The Angel's Kiss are not the same thing. TAK is a prequel as its events take place prior to the start of this book. The chapter titles, for example, aren't the same because they aren't the same book. I think we should just leave the title as it is and remove the alternate title tag. - Mabye if someone uploaded a better image that wasn’t super zoomed in like so many of the images on this wikia are, then we might be able to tell what the title is. JMC Red Dwarf ☎ 03:36, March 4, 2018 (UTC)
- Good news: the full name of this book is given in PROSE: The Ruby's Curse, so this discussion needn't continue. Danochy ☎ 10:38, 21 May 2021 (UTC)
