The FIRST Time Lords! (illustration)
From Tardis Wiki, the free Doctor Who reference
The FIRST Time Lords! was an image released online by the official Doctor Who Twitter account. Consisting of a posed photograph from the set of The Timeless Children, it elaborated on the Second Tecteun's final scene, providing narrative context and a clearer identification of the early incarnations of Omega and Rassilon introduced in the episode.
Characters[[edit] | [edit source]]
- Omega (left, portrayed by Mark Corden)
- Second Tecteun (centre, portrayed by Jake Nwogu)
- Rassilon (right, portrayed by an unknown Don Warrington lookalike)
Notes[[edit] | [edit source]]
- In the final version of The Timeless Children, the two Time Lords who greet Tecteun are seen indistinctly, and their names are not mentioned. However, Chris Chibnall's script states that they can be assumed to be Rassilon and Omega.[1]
- Mark Corden, the episode's 2nd assistant director, influenced the casting of the scene. For Rassilon, he purposely selected an extra who physically resembled Don Warrington, the actor who had portrayed Rassilon as a Matrix Lord in several Big Finish audios. Corden also cast himself as Omega.[2] Lisa McMullin confirmed that it was Corden in the scene.[3]
- The image was released on the 57th anniversary of Doctor Who.
Continuity[[edit] | [edit source]]
- Rassilon, at this early point in his life, has a body whose appearance he will later resume after he dies and becomes a Matrix Lord. (AUDIO: Neverland, Zagreus, etc.)
- Rassilon is also already wearing the same red-and-gold presidential robe which he will later resume wearing in a later incarnation, after his resurrection and the conclusion of the Time War. (TV: Hell Bent)
