The Great Escape
The Great Escape was a war film. The plot involved a prison break (PROSE: The Pit) from a German POW camp during World War II. (PROSE: Autumn Mist) It had a very memorable theme song. (PROSE: The Shadows of Avalon)
Among the cast was Donald Pleasence, whose character was shot at the end. This part of the film always upset Bernice Summerfield, who wanted a remake in which he survived. (PROSE: The Pit)
Ian Chesterton recalled the slick officers present in the film. (PROSE: The Time Travellers)
Fitz Kreiner did an impression of the guards from the film when he encountered Wehrmacht troops. Sam Jones hoped the film prepared her for dealing with a real POW camp. (PROSE: Autumn Mist)
Captain Wilson was reminded of the film when he found himself taking a ride in a sidecar beside Corporal Dobby Palmer on a motorbike. Palmer instead drew comparisons with Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade. (PROSE: The Crawling Terror)
