By 2013, Rosemary Kizlet and her group used it as their headquarters. A Spoonhead hacked into by the Eleventh Doctor drove an anti-gravity motorbike up its side. Once UNIT took control of the Shard, the Great Intelligence ordered Kizlet to erase the memories of the organisation, returning them to their "factory settings". When the Twelfth Doctor and Clara Oswald arrived in London during the Hyperion invasion of 2015, the Doctor proved to Clara that they were in her own time by pointing out the Gherkin and the Shard. (COMIC: The Hyperion Empire [+]Loading...["The Hyperion Empire (comic story)"])

When a birds-eye view of the same area of London is shown later in the same episode, the Shard can be seen between HMS Belfast and Southwark Bridge, definitively placing it in Southwark.
