The Toymaker's legions

From Tardis Wiki, the free Doctor Who reference
A band of Goblins, (TV: The Church on Ruby Road [+]Loading...["The Church on Ruby Road (TV story)"]) whom the Fifteenth Doctor believed to be connected to the Toymaker's legions in some sense. When he was defeated at UNIT HQ, the Toymaker claimed that "[his] legions [we]re coming". (TV: The Giggle [+]Loading...["The Giggle (TV story)"])

The Fifteenth Doctor later inferred that "his legions" had followed the Toymaker (PROSE: The Church on Ruby Road [+]Loading...{"name":"TCoRR","page":"100","chaptnum":"Thirteen","1":"The Church on Ruby Road (novelisation)"}) into the universe when the Fourteenth Doctor accidentally summoned him at the edge of the universe. (TV: Wild Blue Yonder [+]Loading...["Wild Blue Yonder (TV story)"], The Giggle [+]Loading...["The Giggle (TV story)"]) In fact, he believed the Goblins he encountered during his first adventure with Ruby Sunday to be part of "the Toymaker's legacy". (PROSE: The Church on Ruby Road [+]Loading...{"name":"TCoRR","page":"100","chaptnum":"Thirteen","1":"The Church on Ruby Road (novelisation)"}) While he considered Ruby's theory that the Goblins might've caused every accident throughout history, (TV: The Church on Ruby Road [+]Loading...["The Church on Ruby Road (TV story)"]) the Doctor wanted to naturally dismiss the possibility as it didn't make sense, but was unable to fully accept his own reasoning as he knew the Goblins didn't make sense in general. History[[edit]]

After the Fourteenth and Fifteenth Doctors bested the Toymaker in a game of catch atop the London UNIT HQ in late 2023, the Toymaker ominously told them that his legions were coming after the Fourteenth Doctor banished him from existence as his prize. The Fifteenth Doctor was subsequently aware he would be facing a "whole pantheon of new enemies" in his travels, but confidently believed they had "no idea what they['d] let themselves in for". In December 2023, a group of Goblins who "bimble[d]" through time found a "chance of coincidence" surrounding Ruby Sunday and Lulubelle, and thus began seeding bad luck into Ruby's life. After she and the Fifteenth Doctor saved Lulubelle from being fed to the Goblin King and their escape from the Goblin ship, (TV: The Church on Ruby Road [+]Loading...["The Church on Ruby Road (TV story)"]) the Doctor explained to Ruby that the Goblins' presence was the "legacy" of the Toymaker who had entered the universe with "his legions", being another "force of nature" that was of "a different nature", obeying their own rules in much the same way that (PROSE: The Church on Ruby Road [+]Loading...{"name":"TCoRR","page":"100","chaptnum":"Thirteen","1":"The Church on Ruby Road (novelisation)"}) the Toymaker obeyed the rules of play. (TV: The Giggle [+]Loading...["The Giggle (TV story)"]) The Goblins then went back in time and ate Ruby as a baby, creating a cracked timeline. However, the Doctor followed them and restored the timeline by impaling the King with the spire of the church on Ruby Road. After he killed the King, the entire Goblin ship seemed to fade from existence. (TV: The Church on Ruby Road [+]Loading...["The Church on Ruby Road (TV story)"])
