The Vanishing Blue Box was a pub and coaching inn located in Reading. Jenny Flint thought it obvious that the pub's naming and motif had been inspired by the Doctor's TARDIS. The entrance to the building had two blue wooden doors. The sign outside the pub depicted the TARDIS dematerialising.

The Paternoster Gang visited The Vanishing Blue Box when they came to Reading to investigate strange going-ons in Weirdling Wood. At the pub, they were told by locals about the history of the Weirdling Woods and the hauntings which were common there. (PROSE: The Curious Case of the Weirdling Woods)
