The Crew of the Copper-Colored Cupids is an independent science-fantasy series (comprising short stories, text adventure games, cartoons and webcasts) created by Lupan Evezan and Aristide Twain. It focused on the titular organisation, a group of dimension-travelling androids.

Crossovers with the DWU[[edit] | [edit source]]

In September 2020, the Retconning Crocodiles, a villain from the series, were mentioned in A Worthy Successor as an easter egg.

A more substantial crossover between the series and the DWU was released in December as part of the 2020 Copper-Colored Cupids Calendar, in the form of Auteur's Abecedarium. Written by the Faction Paradox writer Jayce Black, this short story featured Godparent Auteur of Faction Paradox, who tried to destroy the Cupids' universe by sending them a seemingly-cursed book. A sequel, Resurrection of the Author, was also published as the final instalment of the calendar on New Year's day. Auteur returned in the 2022 Copper-Colored Calendar for Auteur and the Homeworld, which followed on from both of these stories.

The Council of Frogs, which originates in the series, were mentioned in And Today, You [+]Loading...["And Today, You (novel)"] and A World of Pure Unimagination [+]Loading...["A World of Pure Unimagination (short story)"].

Additionally, versions of the events of The Big Bang and Time Lord Victorious were mentioned, and spoofed, in passing in the earlier solo Cupids story The Grand Multiverse Hotel; it was mentioned that in one universe visited by the main characters, they had witnessed a time traveller with a bowtie who had blown up his reality, put it back together again, and later nearly blown it up again by trying to kill Death. However, this was only a minor cultural reference to the DWU rather than another straight-up crossover.

The Underwater Menace [+]Loading...["The Underwater Menace (TV story)"], Flux [+]Loading...["Flux (TV story)"], and The Evil of the Daleks [+]Loading...["The Evil of the Daleks (TV story)"] have been pastiched within the confines of the series.

Behind-the-scenes connections[[edit] | [edit source]]

Faction Paradox writer Jayce Black wrote the actual crossover, Auteur's Abecedarium. One of the series' two primary creators was Aristide Twain, who wrote several licensed DWU stories, including the Faction Paradox audio Sabbath and the King. The other was Lupan Evezan, who novelised Cybergeddon for the Novelisations in Time & Space range.

Callum Phillpott, Ophelien Twain and Peter Guy have all contributed to the series.
