Herodotus-724

From Tardis Wiki, the free Doctor Who reference

Herodotus-724 was a member of the Crew of the Copper-Colored Cupids and the custodian of their Cupid Archives. (POEM: Auteur and the Homeworld [+]Loading...["Auteur and the Homeworld (poem)"])

In December 2020, after Bibliophile-962 seized Auteur's Abecedarium and placed it a restricted area of the Archives following a dramatic reading from Celebration-665, (PROSE: Auteur's Abecedarium [+]Loading...["Auteur's Abecedarium (short story)"]) Bibliophile forgot to inform Herodotus about the incident. Two years later, Herodotus discovered the unknown book and decided to read it in order to record its contents. Soon after he began, Auteur appeared in front of him, using the cursed Abecedarium to escape the "crumbling little oxbow" in which he was trapped. Herodotus greeted Auteur curiously, retrieving a notepad and asking the visitor about how he came to end up in the Cupid Homeworld. Although Herodotus attempted to persuade Auteur to stay and talk with him a bit longer, Auteur was more focused on acquiring a Fog Ship with which to return to the Third Universe than answer Herodotus's questions, telling the archivist as much. Auteur then snapped his fingers and disappeared, using Herodotus's own shadow to cross the floor and leave the room, eventually transferring himself to the shadow of another Cupid after being pounced on by the Clockwork Sphinx.

Later, taking inspiration from Herodotus's initial belief that he was fiction-come-to-life, Auteur gave life to all the fiction within the Archives in an effort to wreak havoc in the Homeworld and effect his escape. Herodotus, still in the Archives, leveraged the spell to mark the Abecedarium with his "REJECTED from collection" stamp which, in the present state of affairs where everything in the Archives became true, had the result of expelling Auteur from the Homeworld and returning him to his oxbow reality. Herodotus then chained up the book and left it in a drawer to prevent anyone from reading it again after which Celebration invited everyone for cake.
