Celebration-665

From Tardis Wiki, the free Doctor Who reference

Celebration-665 was a member of the Crew of the Copper-Colored Cupids and part of its Department of Festivities.

In late 2020, Celebration submitted "a rather underwhelming report" to the Department of Documentation. In December of that year, a few days before Christmas, he was summoned for his expert opinion after Carter-1277 opened a mysterious gift which contained a large leatherbound book. Eager to regain some popularity among his peers, Celebration was eager to regard the gift as a Christmas miracle. He told the Crew that they were "otherwise bereft of presents due to events beyond our control" when this one appeared addressed to them, arguing "you'd have to be an eldritch abomination" to think it was anything other than a miracle, referring to Lord Thymon whose earlier expert testimony as a time-demon from the Outer Void suggested there was "something rotten" about the whole affair.

The Crew was won over by Celebration's reasoning as the matter specifically concerned the proper handling of a Christmas present, with Celebration beginning a dramatic reading of the book once Thespian-315 brought out his gilded lectern. Part way through, it became clear the book was actually Auteur's Abecedarium and Celebration paused as if he had told a good joke and was waiting for applause after he finished a section where the abecedarium had been interrupted by a warning against Auteur. The rest of the Cupids had not heard a joke so Celebration mumbled about the tough crowd and continued the reading. Once he had finished, Celebration closed the book and took a bow which was swiftly followed by Bibliophile-962 emerging from the crowd and taking it, headed for a restricted area of the Cupid Archives lest anyone did something rash such as attempt to read it again. Brushing off this brief moment of awkwardness, Celebration suggested taking the party to his place with a promise of cakes for everyone, leading to the attending Cupids forgetting all about the dangers of the abecedarium. Two years later, Herodotus-724 inadvertently summoned Auteur for a second time which caused chaos across the Homeworld when Auteur brought life to all of the fiction in the Cupid Archives. After Herodotus managed to expel him from the Homeworld once more, Celebration again invited everyone for cakes. (POEM: Auteur and the Homeworld [+]Loading...["Auteur and the Homeworld (poem)"])
