TARDIS console (The Claws of Axos)
Into the Third Doctor's exile on Earth, after considerable tinkering to his TARDIS control console, he had a different TARDIS console design from that he previously used, (TV: The Claws of Axos [+]Loading...["The Claws of Axos (TV story)"]) referred to as an upgraded control deck. (REF: TARDIS Type 40 Instruction Manual [+]Loading...["TARDIS Type 40 Instruction Manual (reference book)"]) He continued to use this console for the rest of his life, into his adventures with Sarah Jane Smith. (TV: Death to the Daleks [+]Loading...["Death to the Daleks (TV story)"])
The Doctor could separate it from the TARDIS for repairs. (TV: Day of the Daleks)
Though its aesthetic appearance wasn't too dissimilar to that of the previous console, it was a more obvious shade of green, and the time rotor had a different internal structure, consisting of three, illuminated green rods surrounding a centre red one. The panels were bigger than before but carried out much of the same controls.
The console itself also had a series of lines on it connecting all of the controls, though this didn't seem to have any function other than aesthetic. The controls on the console were also larger, even if they weren't in different places. This console also had an emergency summons control which sent a distress signal to the Time Lords in times of dire crisis. (TV: The Three Doctors)
