The most notable event of the 22nd century for humanity was the invasion of Earth and the Sol system by the Daleks in 2157. The resulting decade-long occupation was ended by the First Doctor and his companions Susan, Ian Chesterton, and Barbara Wright. Susan fell in love here with David Campbell, ultimately marrying him and leaving behind her life aboard the TARDIS. (TV: The Dalek Invasion of Earth) They eventually had a son, Alex.
