References
- Halka refers to the Doctor as a "simpleton."
- Cuthbert refers to President Sheridan Moorkurk as a "sanctimonious bitch."
- K9 is equipped with a stealth mode. He has never previously used it as "no one ever asked."
- After searching for years, Cuthbert and Mr Dorrick discovered a dimensional fissure in the universe in the Proxima System. It was only two atoms across but the Conglomerate were able to expand it exponentially. Cuthbert refers to as the Quantum Gateway and intends to use it to travel into the past. It exists in a separate universe from Normal Space.
- Cuthbert's experiments with the Quantum Gateway caused Proxima Major to be shifted out of its orbit.
- The Daleks intend to use the Quantum Gateway for the "conquest of infinity." Their dimension ship is necessary in order to do so.
- Cuthbert describes the Daleks as "squawking, mobile, metal, robotic things good at impressing people."
- Cuthbert refers to Romana and K9 as "the harpy and the metal mutt."
- After the Doctor is believed to have been killed, Romana tells Mr Dorrick that she and the Doctor initially had an adversarial relationship but that they had gradually become good friends without even noticing it.
- Romana accuses Cuthbert of being "terminally stupid."
- Cuthbert tells Romana that he is a "self-made man." He later explains to the Doctor that the seeds of the Conglomerate were sown in the mists of time and that he was the one responsible for doing so. Consequently, the Doctor believes that his existence may represent a temporal paradox.
- After the destruction of the Quantum Gateway, Proxima Major begins to slowly shift back into its original orbit.
- Although the Doctor tells Romana that he can return her to Gallifrey, she elects to continue travelling in the TARDIS.
