- David A. McIntee's character Koschei (an early identity of the Master introduced in the novel The Dark Path) appears here for the first time in a Doctor Who spin-off rather than Doctor Who proper. There had previously been plans by BBV Productions to feature Koschei (played by Anthony Ainley) as the protagonist of an audio drama, but those did not come to pass due to Ainley's lack of availability.
