Facing Mr Steelman

Gardoni managed to fire a shot to injure Roger but the threat was neutralised when she deployed her explosive handbag, consuming the base with lava. After making it to the surface, Roger was taken to hospital while Penelope and Parker returned to England. (COMIC: Mr. Steelman)

TV 21 reported that a "mysterious masked man in black" had trespassed and used a reactor on 13 February 2065. (PROSE: Fireball Surrenders!) On 20 February, an article from an annyomous source suggested that one of Lady Penelope's agents had been kidnapped by the "mysterious underworld figure" Mr Steelman. (PROSE: Titan Declares War!)

Battling Bereznik

In Paris, Roger discovered that the Bereznik agent Hermutt Clinger was planning to assassinate the World Government Defence Minister who was to drive in a procession with the French President. He contacted Lady Penelope and told her of the conspiracy but the transmission was cut before he could complete his briefing, leading to her and Parker travelling to France to help. In fact, he had been captured by Clinger, who attempted to frame him for the assassination, as well as his subsequent suicide. Just as the procession came into view, Lady Penelope and Parker stormed into the hideout, having worked out its location and picked the lock, rescuing Roger after Parker pushed Clinger over the balcony. However, Clinger survived and chased FAB 1 in his car until Parker deployed the oil slip. Upon inspecting the crash site, Clinger shot Penelope. Roger quickly returned fire and killed him in response but Penelope had been seriously wounded. He and Parker carried her back to FAB 1 and took her to the Reinstat Clinic, as specially requested by Penelope, where Doctor Reinstat treated her for her injuries. She recovered well and the trio of special agents returned to Monte Carlo and rode FAB 2 back to England. (COMIC: The Assassination Threat)
