An Announcement from the Doctor[1] was a webcast featuring the Eleventh Doctor that was released online on the day of the fiftieth anniversary of Doctor Who, promoting The Day of the Doctor.

Summary

The Eleventh Doctor materialises his TARDIS against a starry sky. Opening the TARDIS doors, he makes an unseen second party aware they are to be joining him, because "the Moment is here".

Story notes

  • The person that the Eleventh Doctor is speaking to is unseen, giving the illusion that he is talking to the viewer. Given the association of the webcast with The Day of the Doctor and his line about "the Moment [being] here", an in-universe interpretation would be that the scene depicts him recruiting one of his earlier selves to help with Gallifrey's final stand, rather than inviting the audience in, simply to join on the adventure.
