Sorry to disturb you with this, but I felt you needed to be informed of this edit [https://tardis.fandom.com/wiki/The_Star_Beast_(TV_story)?diff=3662903&oldid=3662898 here], where, even after I informed them on what you once told me about how featuring is to only include recurring characters to prevent overcrowding, [[User:Epsilon the Eternal]] still readded a single episode character to the section, essentially because  they were pivotal to the plot, and then justified it by saying that an admin's word is not policy and can be ignored (at least by my reading of their edit summery). And why the character in question, [[Rose Noble]], had showed up in a short story, they have ignored my explanation that the short story doesn't make her a recurring character due to it's nature as a prelude to the episode and my request for a few weeks of patience to see if she returns.

So, I believe that I've come up with a solution to the issue with the timeline template, though, I did create a new page called [[Template:Order of Centuries]], which is useless and should be deleted. It's come to my eyes that upon loading the wiki, someone has vandalised the Dalek page and called it JEWS MUST BE EXTERMINATED! It seems upon viewing that someone saw this and made a first time edit to remove an antisemetic comment at the top of the page and they have left a note about it requesting that a mod or admin clear everything up. However, the page name remains the questionable statement.

As this wiki used to use Special:Forum, Fandom wants to make sure that old forum links and references aren't cluttering up maintenance special pages (unusedfiles, needed pages etc). Would you mind checking and letting me know asap as to whether that's an issue for this wiki? Just looking for dead links to forums in special pages, or links to images used in forums but are now dead, stuff like that. No need to attempt to cleanup yourself, I just need to know if they exist.

WHY is it that;
 
1. Any other kind of adaptation (such as audio adaptation, TV adaption of an EU story, etc.) is listed seperately in the infobox
 
2. Novelisations themselves are listed seperately in "list of appearances" pages
 
3. Novelisations aren't listed seperately in infoboxes

You always tell users to contact an admin's talk page for stuff to do with the main wiki rather than bringing if to discussions, but why do you not have that in the wiki guidelines? This includes other stuff such as no advertising other wikis, always have titles that "make sense", complain about other users on an admin's talk page if you feel they've done something wrong, and no celebrating their birthday. (unless it's Doctor Who themed, I guess) I bet you could think of more examples. Why are rules like those rules not in the guidelines? It would save you and other users time cause you wouldn't have to warn them about it (at least if they've read the guidelines). So I’ve seen a few wikis with off-topic megathreads (Jurassic Park wiki being one example), which are basically discussions threads where users can post whatever they want that is not related to the subject of the wiki (in this case Doctor Who) in the replies to that thread. We could put it in FANDOM posts, so it’s easier to find, and we can tell users about it whenever a discussion is or goes off-topic. Maybe we could call it “The Void” too, as it is technically outside of “the universe of the wiki”.  What do you think about this idea? I switched my account from King of the Sandmen to GaganTopia in August to hide my identity from another wiki. I’ve just been wondering, since this means I’ve been posting here for nearly a year now (since April the 2nd), does that mean I can get discussions moderator rights sooner? Allow me to remind you that I applied for the rights to you last month and have been showing I can prove myself multiple times. If I can’t get them sooner, due to using a previous active alt from here to fit in with the requirements, or just multiple accounts not being allowed to be used on here (though I wasn’t using them to get around any ban), or something else, then that’s fine. I will still go on to show that I can prove myself, as I’m sure I would be very good at the job, as I am super active and I understand the rules and can explain them to users as you do, and I’m sure I can hold off trolls in discussions till the admins block them. We don't yet have a working forum archive to check, but I'm not sure I remember a formal discussion happening. That said, I'd like to put forward that '''the pages themselves constitute clear community consensus''', either way.
 
Now I don't want editors reading this to think that any action taken on the wiki which hasn't been reverted by an admin is proof that the rules have already changed. In fact, I need to point to [[T:POINT]] in the context of this discussion: please always ''discuss'' suggested changes, and do not attempt to exploit a loophole or apparent lack of oversight in order to prove your point. That way leads to [[Help:I'm banned|very bad places]].
 
That said, the "future releases" range has been a broad community effort for the past two-and-a-half years -- with diverse editors, spanning pretty much ''all'' our regular users, giving clear consent by their continued participation -- and it's very much in keeping with the spirit of [[T:SPOIL ALLOW]].
 
I personally think they fall under series pages generally, but it would be good to add "Other overview type pages, like [[List of future releases]]", just to clear up any confusion about [[Tardis:Where spoilers are allowed|where spoilers are allowed]].

I remember that there was a thread from my very early days on the wiki (late 2016, maybe?) that dealt with the [[Doctor Who Unbound]] stories. Insofar as they should exist at all, the pages created with the dab term "(He Who Jests At Scars)" are certainly valid. As far as I can tell, the reason they didn't exist yet isn't a question of validity ''per se'' — rather, it's that the boundaries of when we create distinct pages for alternate-timeline versions of characters have always been a bit contentious.

The divergence between the ''Sympathy'' timeline occurs right after ''[[The War Games (TV story)|The War Games]]'', so "the Second Doctor of the David Warner timeline" is for all intents and purposes identical to the prime-timeline version. (And, depending on the specific multiverse technobabble a given story uses, may be ''literally'' the same person.)

Since they have previously tried to get around their block by editing their talkpage, as seen [[https://tardis.fandom.com/wiki/User_talk:Tellymustard?diff=3355424&oldid=3354999 here]], I fear they might be trying to bypass their exile with loopholes, which might warrant an investigation.

We've not had a proper forum to engage new policies for in some time, and that's where rulings should come into play. I was hoping you could clear up the air with them, since I do not believe they would listen to me, for reasons that should become clear in a bit.

I fear they have not learnt from their month long exile, since, in the few days since their return, they have broken two policies that you are already aware of, restarted the edit wars they began prior to their ban, continued to use profanity (admittedly when describing their past behavior), contributed to those "(age)-girl lives in (place)" pages instead of putting them up for deletion, and messaged other users to have them overlook their sandboxes like teacher marking a paper. And even then, they uploaded the sandbox changes to main pages when they got impatient for approval from non-Admin users that didn't ask for such responsibility. They're even talking about certain users on other talk pages that invites other users to see them as an authority to be sought out when they are not admins. The thing that I took as an insult, however, was the ranking system on the Seventh Doctor talk page you saw, where I was ranked lowest, even beneath the new editor User:Tellymustard, despite having been editing the longest on their ranking list, which I can only see as them trying to belittle my own contributions to the Wiki.

Now, I don't know if they have a clinical depression, but I have battled with such things in the past, with friends and my own demons, and this did trigger me, particularly because I read it while on lunch break at work and was trying to relax. This Wiki, especially my talk page, is meant to be a safe place, and now because of talkpage policy, I can't even remove it; I got to look at it and be reminded of a harder time in my life every time I scroll through message. I was so upset I nearly had a panic attack, but I remembered my coping mechanisms and was able to return to work.
 
Initially, I was going to request they be banned again for leaving such triggering phrases on a talkpage, but I decided to wait a few days to calm down and I relalised how dramatic that sounded. Instead, I was hoping you could have a word with them about how we talk to each other and respect fellow editors on this wiki, even if it is as worthy opponents in depates.
 
Thank you for listening, it feels so good to get this off my chest.

I think your comment I am replying to is perfectly fair. To help with this exchange I thought I might mention that I do not have clinical deppression (My school counseller tried to get me diagnosed with it but I call that nonesense). I can sort of imagine how that feels to have that brought back to you though because I was psychologically abused at school for 2 years by my "friends", I see now that I was not actually their friend and just their coping strategy to deal with their insecurities. But I sometimes feel a bout of a feeling of sadness and emptiness and I feel like there's nothing for me that exists in the universe when I remember that time. Not only have they continued to message me unneeded messages with just a "kk", they are still inserting themselves into other user's talkpages to try and get themselves out of trouble by playing to our sympathies, but have only shown that they had no reason to write the triggering phrases due to lacking a registered mental condition. Even worse, they try to give an example, only to aggravated the situation by reminding myself of schoolmates who would take advantage of the Autism to get me in trouble for their amusement and discredited me on the ground of me being neurodivergent to avoid consequences; my own father would call me diseased for it. And they are not even apologetic about the ranking, just regretful for how users were ranked. Coupled with User:Najawin's comment about their changes to their Sandbox, which I believe violates a policy regarding Sandboxes being for the original editor alone, and their insistence on edit waring to get their way on timeline pages, showcases that they did not learn from their original ban, and a longer one could allow them to understand how their disrespectful actions are unwelcomed on the wiki. I've been feeling so harassed and triggered by their messages that it is beginning to affect my work - I actually yelled at a colleague due to being overstressed and overthinking how hated I felt for being psychologically abused myself in my teen years by my own family! I think I'm gonna take a few days off the wiki until I feel better and can feel safe editing again. I was not asking anybody if they could put a word in for my idea for TPTB. My post was me expressing my confusion about how the expanded universe has had a plethora of writers who've been brought in, for what seems to be their first job (not having heard of any of them, it seems), and yet my idea for a show has more or less been nipped in the bud, thanks to recent audio releases.
 
The question was simply me asking "what does one have to do" to get an idea brought to life, or even seen.

Yes, I know what you mean about the loading times. My experience on mobile viewing is atrocious for the long character articles and editing on mobile is near-impossible for me on them because it seems to crash or be so long to respond to the changes, even in source editor. Hence, I near-exclusively edit on desktop these days. I completely understand why editors appear apathetic to the change though; perhaps its the perks of superior internet speed or something, but these long articles do make editing a chore sometimes, necessitating having to edit solely in sections rather than whole page edits.

If the task to do it is still needed though, and hence isn't going to be a waste of my time, I can begin implementing the change.


I think all of the sex related pages should be merged. I feel like the topic isn't big enough in the whoniverse for it to need seperate pages. It would be more organized if all sex related things were on the "Sex" page. Sorry to disturb you with this, but I felt you needed to be informed of this edit here, where, even after I informed them on what you once told me about how featuring is to only include recurring characters to prevent overcrowding, User:Epsilon the Eternal still readded a single episode character to the section, essentially because they were pivotal to the plot, and then justified it by saying that an admin's word is not policy and can be ignored (at least by my reading of their edit summery). And why the character in question, Rose Noble, had showed up in a short story, they have ignored my explanation that the short story doesn't make her a recurring character due to it's nature as a prelude to the episode and my request for a few weeks of patience to see if she returns.

I've actually been meaning to message you about them and their decorum for some time, but this blatant disregard towards your words has pushed me into action now. For the past few months, their edit summaries have included treating arguments against their edits as attacks on the merit of their opinion, reverted edits based on actions not yet taken, put "More to Added" on fully released articles instead of contributing themselves, indulge in rude wording on multiple occasions (even using the name of the Lord in vain), and engaged in unneeded hostilities on talk pages.

I was hoping to ask if you could have a word with them, if it's not to much trouble, to inform them on proper Wiki etiquette towards other editors, and to avoid getting to personal in their edit summaries, and to remind them of why the featuring section on story pages is just for recurring characters.

I've looked through your cited page above, and looked over the linked examples.

I'm also aware of both editors' edits throughout the past few years, although acknowledge I've not been as active as I had been in the past.

I generally come at this from the perspective of 'is there a policy I can point to for a reason for this edit'. Epsilon does cite many of their edits regarding a policy. However the edit summary war is something that cannot continue, it's a nightmare to cite any discussion and it's not what the summaries are for regardless.

I'm unsure on a few of the cited issues by Banana, but can see how they may find some things vexatious.

I think all users can have their issues, and while Epsilon has had a few citations against them in the past, there have been extraneous circumstances around those in some regards.

We've not had a proper forum to engage new policies for in some time, and that's where rulings should come into play. Citing a reason for an edit especially something which might result in an edit war over inclusion of a character (or not) should be backed up by a talk page decision, forum or policy. Citing the word of an admin while it might seem like the 'voice of the flying spaghetti monster' in terms of resolving or justifying an edit, however it is better to be citing a policy or discussion. --Tangerineduel / talk 01:49, 30 November 2023 (UTC)
