Hi! If you need to leave a message here on my talk page, please follow a couple of guidelines:

  • Please don't forget to sign your posts. I won't answer any post that doesn't have a signature.
  • Also, if you are starting a new topic, please add a new heading. If you just add a new topic at the bottom of an old one, it might not be seen.

Greetings[[edit source]]

Hi, I am a huge fan of Buddhist philosophy; just stopping by, because I admire your name. Great choice, man (or girl). My name is Dr. Worm. Good morning. How are you? I'm Dr. Worm. I'm interested in things. I'm not a real doctor, but I am a real worm; I am an actual worm. I live like a worm. I like to play the drums. I think I'm getting good, but I can handle criticism, you know. It's great to meat such a fantastic user like you. You're doing...fantastic!

Artificial Intelligence — thanks[[edit source]]

Hey, thanks for finishing up all those dates in Artificial Intelligence. It's been on my to-do list for ages. In fairness to me, it's a pretty long to-do list. :P

Anyway, thanks again. :) --SOTO (/\) 06:50, February 11, 2014 (UTC)

Episode Numberings[[edit source]]

Hey, I'm GamingBuddha. I saw that you reverted my edits to the Doctor Who television stories page. Could I get an explanation for why you reverted them? I was simply putting renumbering the episodes how they were a month ago and how they. Numbering the episodes as serials doesn't make much sense at all since they're told in a completely different format. The way they were previously numbered, two-parters were not accounted for, so the serial numbering was off anyways. If the wiki wants to use serial numbering, I believe it should be used alongside the episode numbers. Also, the episode numberings had been in place for over two years. If the wiki's going to change that, there should be some sort of consensus over it. GamingBuddha 06:59, February 14, 2014 (UTC)

Sorry, I just saw your message on my talk page. How is it a spoiler to mention that series 8 exists? Wouldn't the spoiler policy only apply for story content? We know from The Time of the Doctor that Capaldi is the new Doctor. Since it's an episode page, it seems very relevant to mention when the next episode will be airing.

I understand that it was a mod who made that edit, but like I said, the older numbering was there for over two years. The protocol on wikis for disagreements on content is to keep the older version while discussion occurs. The change is then made after a consensus has been reached. Day of the Doctors and Time of the Doctor[[edit source]]

Under series 7, there are no mentions to The Day of the Doctor and The Time of the Doctor, nor to the enemies and vice versa. http://atlantablackstar.com/2013/11/23/doctor-season-7-episode-26-day-doctor/ Atlantablackstar states that it is an episode of series 7, however, your website makes no mention on these episodes on series 7 or series 8. Are these episodes apart of any series or season at all? There is no good information on the subject. Can you please tell me what series these episodes belong to. Thanks.

More questions from Doctor other[[edit source]]

I read the Infinity Doctors and i have a theory if you want to make a change about the infinity doctors universe.I think that universe half alternate half main universe. Doctors mention in the book half (First Doctor) from main universe half (Eight Doctor) from alternate timeline Patience was lost in Cold Fusion she saved by Omega in an alternate timeline and Omega disappeared in the infinity doctors thats beacuse alternate time is ending we all know they not stay forever; The Magistrate is the master from main universe, story in the infinity doctors is from main and alternate (First Doctor/Alternate Eight Doctor)

(If i were you ı definitely made The Infinity Doctors Universe more logical for readers of this page)--Doctor other 13:14, February 17, 2014 (UTC)

Caecilius[[edit source]]

Read the justification I gave at the talk page for Caecilius before reverting all my edits: The character introduces himself to the Doctor as Lobus Caecilius (spelling from http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/p00hzmlb) and is credited as simply Caecilius. The current name is speculation based upon the historical figure and his fictionalisation in the Cambridge Latin Course. --SawyerDN 01:58, March 1, 2014 (UTC)

Visual Editor[[edit source]]

Yes, question about video editor, I had misspelled visual, and auto-correct changed it. What i meant is that, the editor keeps leaving off the last character I type, which is why my earlier edits were missing letters and spaces. I am unsure of why.The preceding unsigned comment was added by Masterpwn (talk • contribs) .

Thing is, I can't figure out how to edit in anything other than it. How can I edit it in another manner?

Right so, earlier today I made an edit, and tried putting a TV story in parenthesis by the edit. They're supposed to be in italics but I struggled with it for a few minutes and it came out only half acceptable which you later fixed for me. Can you tell me how I can make an edit so that you don't need to go around fixing my link messes I tend to leave behind? Masterpwn 03:19, March 29, 2014 (UTC)

Making a page with an image[[edit source]]

I want to create a page, and I don't know how to add a photo to it. I am creating a page for the red linked security camera on the Charlotte Lux page for the episode Silence in the Library. I have an image of the camera looking at the Doctor and Donna after bursting into the room with the camera in it. I'd like to create a page describing the camera and the picture, how do I do so? Masterpwn 13:33, April 7, 2014 (UTC)

I had a problem with a picture publishing before I actually meant to put it on the site. I hadn't finished putting in all the information I needed to. I have tagged it for deletion because I don't know how to edit it, and I don't think I can. Not entirely sure why it published before I actually meant it to, but it happened. Sorry. Masterpwn 18:51, April 8, 2014 (UTC)

Odd text format and frame[[edit source]]

For some odd reason I have an odd frame around the text I leave on talk pages and I don't know how to get it back to normal, without the frame. Masterpwn 12:25, April 8, 2014 (UTC)

Vandalism? I don't think so.[[edit source]]

I think I'm allowed to remove something from my own talk page, thank you very much. If that is classified as a breach of the vandalism policy then there is something very wrong with that policy. I do not want to see messages from you on my talk page again. OfficialBBC 18:35, April 17, 2014 (UTC)

You seem to enjoy throwing the personal attacks policy at people for no valid reason, don't you? Explain to me how on earth you were chosen as a suitable admin for this '40,000' page wiki? OfficialBBC 19:03, April 17, 2014 (UTC)

Also, the excerpt from the vandalism policy that you posted on my page reads "Please remember that your talk page (for example, User talk:TimeTraveler) is not "yours". It is not in any way a private messaging space.", not "It is an offence to remove information from one's own talk page.". You're not very good at giving people warnings, are you? If you could call that a warning...more like a notification of the existence of policies. Hm. Fair enough. OfficialBBC 19:03, April 17, 2014 (UTC)

Kindly stop jumping to the conclusion that I haven't read the policies and 'banging on' (if no better phrase) about how I haven't on my talk page. OfficialBBC 19:20, April 17, 2014 (UTC)

Page Moves/Renames[[edit source]]

Fair enough, just saw that the discussion as to the page move idea had been there for ages with no-one being against it, or moving it, figured I'd try and help. Will speak to admin next time.

Also, just to let you know, I also moved The Weakest Link: Doctor Who Special as well.

Eleventh Doctor Companion Template?[[edit source]]

Hey, sorry to bother, but I was just wondering if you knew why Template:Companions of the Eleventh Doctor is locked? It looks like it has been locked indefinitely since May 2013. Prior to Eleven's regeneration, I thought maybe it was locked because he was the current incarnation, but now Eleven's is the only locked companion template, including Twelve's. It's in need of several companion updates and I originally inquired about the lock on the talk page back in February, but when I post on the talk page it never shows up in the main activity feed like talk posts usually do. I guess that probably has something to do with the page being locked as well, but that also makes it hard for people to notice that it needs updating if nobody knows that people are requesting updates. Was there a reason it was originally locked and if so, has enough time passed to unlock it at this point? Mewiet 03:39, April 27, 2014 (UTC)

I appreciate it, thank you! Mewiet 19:27, April 27, 2014 (UTC)

No Capitalization on The Sarah Jane Adventures?[[edit source]]

Hi Shambala108,

In keeping with Tardis Data Core's style of Doctor Who stories not having "episode", "part" and their numbers capitalized, could you tell me: should the same also be applied to episodes of The Sarah Jane Adventures?

I await your reply with great interest.

Think![[edit source]]

Did it ever cross your mind that I was helping out another user? OfficialBBC 15:53, May 11, 2014 (UTC)

It's good that you're devoted to helping out this wiki and keeping it in order and all in terms of policies, but you're overdoing it. Policies do not need to be followed absolutely perfectly one billion per cent of the time. There are some acceptable minor breaches of some policies here and there. Stop throwing warnings at me for every tiny reason.. Thank you. OfficialBBC 16:16, May 11, 2014 (UTC)

Stretched Images[[edit source]]

I'm finding a lot of images that are stretched out really tall, such as the infobox image for Cold War. I'm wondering if there's something up with the site, or if it is just my mobile device misbehaving or something.

Also, I am having a problem, and have had it for almost a month now, with the link thing, the box that has all the headings like:

1 - example
1.1 - example
1.2 - example, etc.

All it has is the little loading things, the bars that get smaller and bigger again! no matter how long I wait. It's annoying for when I want to quickly navigate longer pages and things, again I wonder if my device is at fault or there is something wrong with the site. Hope to hear soon, Masterpwn 21:37, May 12, 2014 (UTC)

I'm here[[edit source]]

Just had a wee look at your talk page. I was looking into the stretched image thing when I got side tracked by the abuse you got from User:OfficialBBC. Can I just say well done on how you handled it, I would have blocked them for a longer period of time).

Also, when you referenced User:Tangerineduel and User:CzechOut, I noticed you mention how busy Czech was. It was this that made me message you. I am usually always here, just floating about (even if I don't edit). So if you ever need a hand with anything, just drop me a message, and I'll come and help as soon as I can! MM/Want to talk? 23:59, May 12, 2014 (UTC)

Didn't notice the abuse, really, but I blocked infinitely for clear violation of T:MISLEAD USER.
czechout<staff />    00:45: Tue 13 May 2014
Oh, no, I think you misunderstood me. I'm saying that I didn't notice it, in the sense of, "It escaped my attention." Not saying at all that it didn't happen, or that we have a difference of opinion over whether it qualifies as an attack. From your description, it sounds like a clearly abusive interlude.
czechout<staff />    01:16: Tue 13 May 2014
I've just had a look at what you asked me to, and I can't find anything wrong. I've tried it on a number of pages, starting at Cold War. MM/Want to talk? 14:34, May 13, 2014 (UTC)

Thanks for the tip[[edit source]]

Sorry about that. This is my first time trying to understand the video policy. After looking at the guidelines, there's no chance of posting that video here without a license. The best I can do is make an indirect referral to the clip through a citation that can take the reader to an article with an embedded version of the video, but does not directly link to the video itself. --Thunderush 05:44, May 13, 2014 (UTC)

Block Lifted[[edit source]]

Thanks very much. It's much appreciated. I was rather taken aback when it happened but I figured that it was caused by my failed archiving attempt alright. I told CzechOut about the situation on Wikia Community Central. I'd have told you or one of the other more regular admins here but the block didn't allow me to edit talk pages either. Thanks again! --GusF 16:04, May 18, 2014 (UTC)

Gaffbeque and Gaffabeque Pages[[edit source]]

They're both wrong, I finally got to check, and the proper spelling is "Gaffabek". So do we delete a page and rename one? If so, I'd suggest renaming the "Gaffabeque" page because it has a little more information, but that's up to you. Masterpwn 12:04, May 21, 2014 (UTC)

The Anne Droid asks the question around 28:40 in the Series 1 episode Bad Wolf. I've gotten the spelling with subtitles (or, as on Netflix, closed captions). Masterpwn 23:12, May 21, 2014 (UTC)

Questions on fixes you've done to help understand[[edit source]]

Hey, I have a few questions... So, on Amy Pond you removed the aliases I added. I completely understand the one "The girl who waited" (that was a face palm moment for me). I also did Mrs. Williams. On hindsight that makes sense because her name legally changed when she married Rory, but Rory Williams has "Mr. Pond" as an alias... would there be an equivalent for Amy, or not?

And then my more troubling question. On Journalist I added Amy. That's all I did. I swear. But you fixed something and said don't fix previous fixes. What happened? What did I do? I didn't think I did anything. I was using the new editing system and used the thing you fixed back to figure out what to put on the one I was doing... Could that have done it? And if so, can I avoid it or should I just go into the revision section to make sure I didn't mess anything up?

Thanks for your time...--Rebazim 01:04, June 2, 2014 (UTC)

Thank you again for everything! It helped a lot! I will make it my mission to fix those occupation pages I created. Thank you for spending time walking me through which pages to look at instead of saying "go see." I really appreciate your help!--Rebazim 17:51, June 2, 2014 (UTC)

I am very sorry and hope you and the admins will forgive me.--Susan Foreman

Real world people...[[edit source]]

Responded at Category talk:Real world people encountered by the Doctor. Some action does need to be taken here, but I don't think it's deletion. We categorise tons of real world stuff, so there's no real concern there. IT's just a matter of making sure we're consistent in the nomenclature.

New TARDIS Data Core page: Doctor Who and the Monsters[[edit source]]

Hi Shambola108,

Just thought I'd drop you a line to let you know that I've created the page Doctor Who and the Monsters for TARDIS Data Core, to go with that for The Five Faces of Doctor Who.

I've created a few pages for Futurepedia, but this is the first time I've done one for TARDIS Data Core. I'd be very grateful if you and the other administrators could take a look when you get a spare moment and make any changes you consider necessary.

Many thanks. Freddie R. Aldous 12:26, July 3, 2014 (UTC)

Thanks for your kind words, Shambala108. I was sorry to hear you're not familiar with Futurepedia, which is the Back to the Future Wiki and just the place to go if you're a fan of the BTTF trilogy. Anyway, glad you liked my very first contribution to TARDIS Data Core. I'm hoping to create another page for this Wiki in the not-too-distant future, so stay tuned... Freddie R. Just thought I'd drop you a line to let you know that I've created the page Camfield's Fairy Milk Chocolate for TARDIS Data Core.

I'd be very grateful if you and the other administrators could take a look when you get a spare moment and make any changes you consider necessary.

Thanks, Shambola108. I accept and respect your changes to The Web of Fear (admins know best!), and will bear your comments re. the reference section in mind for future edits. Unfortunately, I regret I don't know the first thing about adding photos to wikis, so if you or anyone else should ever come across the elusive tele-snap from The Web of Fear episode three of the chocolate bar being removed from the platform vending machine by Driver Evans — which has, to date, only ever appeared on the DVD release — and want to add it to Camfield's Fairy Milk Chocolate, feel free. If anything, it'll save having to get the DVD out every time one wishes to view this particular image... :-) Freddie R. Aldous 12:16, July 5, 2014 (UTC)

Dashes Revisited[[edit source]]

Would like to point out that the edit I made in the Tales of Tranzelore article was actually a complete accident. I mistook the em dash in the article for an en dash and went to replace it, but then i realized it actually was an em dash, but for some reason I deleted the space before it and pushed publish (although don't recall doing so). The edit on the Master's page, however, was only to replace a hyphen with a dash. –Nahald 18:06, July 9, 2014 (UTC)

I see that you cleaned up my edits. Thanks for that as I am new to this. I didn't know that over-wikifying things was a problem. I'm sure I'll slowly learn these things. Thanks for keeping an eye out for things like that, I appreciate it :DThe preceding unsigned comment was added by Videodude13 (talk • contribs) .

Quick Question[[edit source]]

In an edit conflict, is it the responsibility of the person wanting to implement a new change to start a talk page discussion about it when said change is contested or is it the responsibility of the person reverting their change to let the change stand and start the talk page discussion about it? I thought it was the former, but if it's the latter, please let me know when you get the chance. Thank you, Mewiet 21:09, July 11, 2014 (UTC)

As a note, I was under the impression it was the responsibility of the person wanting to implement the new change. You (Mewiet) were implementing something new, and since I disagreed with it, I reverted it. The "narratively ambiguous" category for companions has been around for quite a while, as can be seen on Template:Companions of the First Doctor (established by a user seven months ago), Template:Companions of the Sixth Doctor (established by the same user seven months ago) and Template:Companions of the Ninth Doctor (also established by the same user seven months ago). That user was probably inspired by the "narratively ambiguous" category seen at Template:Companions of the Eighth Doctor, which has been in place for three years at least. Inserting the "narratively ambiguous" category at Template:Companions of the Tenth Doctor was an attempt at consistency by myself, to clarify the in-universe vagueness regarding the characters' companion status, just as with the other templates. --Bold Clone 21:26, July 11, 2014 (UTC)
Three years ago CzechOut revamped the Tenth Doctor template on March 24, 2011 and added most of the characters in question to single-adventure category (Astrid, Rosita, Jackson, Christina, Adelaide, Wilf) and the next day added Cassie and Jimmy. I reverted BoldClone's edits that then took them out of that category and into the narratively ambiguous one, despite that characters like Jackson, Christina, Adelaide, Wilf, and Cassie are all marketed as the companions and listed as such on the story pages of this wiki. Hence my belief that BoldClone's edit is the new change. Mewiet 21:41, July 11, 2014 (UTC)
You rely on marketing for the show as evidence; however, that is distinctly out-of-universe, not in-universe. Note that I did not remove any characters from the companion list, but merely noted that from an in-universe perspective their companion status is unclear, same as on the other templates. --Bold Clone 21:58, July 11, 2014 (UTC)
I've also noted that this wiki already counts them as companions on the story pages, just as CzechOut did when he switched them from "see also" to single-adventure. Mewiet 22:03, July 11, 2014 (UTC)
So? Where do you think the wiki got that idea? From the out-of-universe marketing--which I have already dismissed as not sufficient for an in-universe perspective, which is what we need. --Bold Clone 22:06, July 11, 2014 (UTC)

Since this discussion is happening on my talk page, it's probably easier if I answer here. You both correctly understand that the user proposing a change is responsible for starting a discussion on it; you just don't agree on what the change is. The problem with companion status is that we don't have a workable definition of companion (though it's been tried several times; see Thread:131414). Personally I don't like the "narratively ambiguous" category, but my opinion counts for very little on this wiki. I suggest you take this up with User:CzechOut (to make it easier you can just link to this discussion), as he is the one who makes these decisions, and I am not sure how valid User:Finisterboy's additions to the templates are. In order to stop Shambala getting pinged every single time one of you responds, I've moved the matter to the neutral ground of Thread:158757.

Howling[[edit source]]

Howling pages no longer show up in searches or Recent Wiki Activity, and all threads are created behind a spoiler screen, so I guess the path of least resistance is simply to turn a blind eye to what happens in the Howling. I don't want to burden any admin with the task of deciding the difference between an "ordinary spoiler" and "something derived from the incident at BBC Latin America". If we forced a distinction then one of us would likely be forced to adjudicate whether a particular spoiler broke the rules, and thus get massively spoiled just because we were editing a wiki.

If Howling activity was still in the normal activity feeds, then I'd say we'd have to close the Howling entirely. But as it seems back to its normal functionality of "silent running", I think we can just let the Howling carry on as usual.

Re: Quotation Protocol[[edit source]]

Ok, that's good to know. Sorry about that, and thanks for letting me know. Dr. Anonymous1 03:56, July 18, 2014 (UTC)

Well, it's a moot point since I changed my mind about having a DVD participants category. Slughorn42 18:26, July 24, 2014 (UTC)

Void Ship Question[[edit source]]

Excuse me, but do you know the answers to these questions?

Do you know why the Void Ship had such a long sequence from when it activated to when the Daleks came out? And why did it have to shake a little and make loud thudding noises?

Thanks in advance! SniperKing1 19:02, July 24, 2014 (UTC)

OFSTED[[edit source]]

Why couldn't the ofsted reference be kept? It was a legitimate reference that would have been fine on the Vampires in Venice page. It did no harm... Kranitoko (talk) 18:52, July 26, 2014 (UTC)

Ideas and Questions[[edit source]]

Minor Weapon Pages[[edit source]]

I was thinking on a proposal that for those pages that have got little information about them, could go on the same page to save this wikia from getting cluttered with pages that have got one or two paragraphs written on them. (E.G: Mustard Gas) for example.

Thanks for the reply, I am thankful for the link you put on my talk page. I do get where your coming from. Some thing have to have there own separate page. Otherwise it would be a messed up Tardis and it would take ages to relink things. So thanks again, Shambala108.

How Are You[[edit source]]

I would like to ask how are you today, because i think everyone has to be asked that question, plus I love Doctor Who.

Article Needs Deletion[[edit source]]

Someone created an article about a Youtuber who reviews Doctor Who merchandise. I'm guessing such articles are probably prohibited on this Wiki. Here's the offending article: Votesaxon07. –Nahald 19:23, July 30, 2014 (UTC)

I would have added a template, but I couldn't really find any sort of reference guide on this wiki that gave any sort of explanation for templates available for such matters. –Nahald 00:46, July 31, 2014 (UTC)

votesaxon07[[edit source]]

I am very disappointed at your choice to delete my page on votesaxon07. I would not class my page as advertisement and this therefore means that you have violated the Tardis vandalism policies. In future, I strongly recommend that you apply a sufficient amount of common sense before you unnecessarily delete pages.

                                                                                          Thanks.

Re: NOTHING O'CLOCK ARTICLE[[edit source]]

The Title was featured on the Puffin eshort page so I had presumed it was okay. Don't worry, I am well-versed in your policies!

Re: Episode numbers[[edit source]]

Hi Shambola108,

Sorry to hear about your confusion re. my recent edits to Destiny of the Daleks (TV story). I'll try and explain as best I can.

While I knew that capitalizing numbers, as well as "episodes" and "parts", under TV story sections such as 'Story notes', 'Myths', 'Production errors' etc. was unacceptable and had avoided this at all costs, I had always assumed that 'Ratings' was the exception in this case — having seen the number words capitalized in this section on other TV story pages.

I did at one time, whilst editing, toy with decapitalizing these in 'Ratings', but abandoned the idea as I felt — when previewing the result — that this looked awkward, thus I decided to leave well alone.

I had no idea that capitalization of number words was not allowed in 'Ratings' as well as the other aforementioned TV story sections, and apologize for any inconvenience I may have caused. Thank you for pointing this out and, rest assured, I'll do my best to avoid it in any future TV story edits.

I await your reply with great interest. Freddie R. Aldous 10:49, August 3, 2014 (UTC)
