Asda

Asda was a supermarket chain on Earth.

Asda sold a variety of products. The store in Cardiff had, among other things, a pharmacy, tinned goods section and a fish counter. (PROSE: Slow Decay)

Products, brands and services[[edit] | [edit source]]

In the fruit and veg section, they sold mangoes, pineapples and kilo bags of potatoes. The fish counter contained salmon fillets.

They also sold bagels, risotto rice, bars of chocolate, raspberry ripple ice cream, frozen lamb chunks, wholemeal bread and Special Brew. They also had cheeses including Cheshire and Wensleydale, and olive oils, including virgin and extra virgin. (PROSE: Slow Decay) They also sold eggs (PROSE: The Death of Me) and milk. (PROSE: Attachments) Asda sold their own brand of gin. (PROSE: Future Legend)

History[[edit] | [edit source]]

Hilary Mercer had a book on Asda's best sellers list. (PROSE: The Unhappy Medium) Asda's brand of gin made Iris Wildthyme "natter on". (PROSE: Future Legend) Anji Kapoor once visited an Asda store near Brighton Marina. (PROSE: The Infinity Race)

An Asda was located a two-minute walk away from the bed and breakfast owned by Chloe and Arthur. After escaped from the time loop in which they were repeatedly killed, Chloe thought of perhaps eating her chicken Henrietta, since now she could get eggs from the Asda. (PROSE: The Death of Me) Oliver Day, after leaving a life in the TARDIS, he found life new and exciting again — even just going to Asda for a pint of milk and a loaf of bread. He found it relaxing. (PROSE: Attachments)

Rhys Williams and Lucy Sobel visited an Asda in Cardiff, ten minutes from the flat of Rhys and Gwen, in the mid 2000s. Lucy ate a bagel in the tinned goods aisle, prior to reaching the checkout, arguing that people did it all the time. (PROSE: Slow Decay)

Behind the scenes[[edit] | [edit source]]

On 24 May 2019 ASDA launched AUDIO: The Creeping Death as a limited edition vinyl. It was released as a limited edition run of 1,000 copies on neon green vinyl – only available in the UK.[1]

Ianto Jones took John Ellis, Emma-Louise Cowell and Diane Holmes to an QM somewhere in Cardiff. In a blurred shot, you can clearly see the first three letters of the Asda logo, even though it was slightly out of focus. (TV: Out of Time)
