The Fifth Doctor and his companions Nyssa and Tegan Jovanka found the contractors Samuel Morton Peto and Thomas Grissell had been possessed by Sevakrill. He appealed to their human selves to break free and spent the next two weeks disposing of a missile they had placed inside the column by lowering it into the ground.
