In the Unbound Universe, Adam was an Englishman who lived in Hong Kong in 1997. He was romantically involved with Ling and a friend to Marcus.
On the day that Hong Kong was to be turned over to China, Adam and Marcus met the recently exiled Doctor after being kicked out of a pub, bringing him to the Little England, Adam giving the Time Lord enough money to order something, noting that the currency would be worthless in a day's time. After placing the drunk Marcus in a taxi, Adam and Ling retrated to a hill for intimacy only a cloaked plane to crash on the hill.
