War Doctor's TARDIS console room scanner
I just wanted to make a far better writer and contributor to this wiki aware of a detail about the War Doctor's TARDIS console room. In the mini-comic Ambush (featured in Dalek: The Astounding Untold History of the Greatest Enemies of the Universe) it is shown that the console room featured a scanner screen which appeared to be surrounded by part of the coral structure. I hope that helps as a possible future addition to this wikia. Thanks for reading. ==Victorian Parlour origins==
The origins for this control room are a real mess, due to the messy continuity around the seventh Doctor Wilderness Years. The generally agreed timeline for the seventh Doctor in this wikia is New Adventures, Titan Comics, and then BF adventures that lead into Hex. However the page on origins indicated the BF Hex onward adventures occur before the bulk of the NA's. This seriously needs to be fixed.--223p ☎ 16:22, October 13, 2018 (UTC)223p
Back to White or Roundel TARDIS?
Asking this here because I don't want to cause an edit war, but what sounds like a better name/title for the Fourteenth Doctor's TARDIS desktop: 'Back to White' or 'Roundel TARDIS'? I personally don't see 'Roundel TARDIS' working, as nearly every TARDIS interior could be defined as a 'roundel TARDIS', since roundels are an element in nearly every TARDIS desktop theme. Then again, the more I think about it, my original idea of 'Back to White' doesn't quite work, either, as while it shares elements with the White desktop, it is definitely a different theme altogether. If anyone has any other ideas, that'd be great. TheTARDISLegilimens ☎ 18:11, 28 November 2023 (UTC)
: To be honest I think the console rooms should be split off into separate pages, then we could just have the new interior at Fourteenth Doctor's TARDIS control room. But that's not really relevant now, sorry. 18:25, 28 November 2023 (UTC)
:: I believe one of the producers has said that it's a shame the ceiling wasn't high enough to make it more spherical, but that they were "happy with the donut shape." I can't seriously suggest the 'donut shaped' TARDIS but it did make me laugh. I guess "Roundel TARDIS" is quite generic and could describe others too, and "back to white" isn't quite right as a fit, either. It'll be interesting to see what inevitable reference books etc. refer to it as. Maybe, for the time being, the "new white roundel interior" could work, if that's not too much of a mouthful? Or simply "circular white roundel interior" (as no other white/roundel interior has been strictly circular, I think?) Maybe hold off until more episodes have aired, and let's see if it's referred to in any specific ways within episodes, BTS or Unleashed?
:: For the record, I also do agree with Epsilon here. A split would be great, in much the same way we've split up the different sonics. ::: Well, we probably shouldn't use conjecture for page names like this, so in the absence of an official name for the current one, "Fourteenth Doctor's TARDIS control room" would be reasonable IMO. == New TARDIS Name ==
I noticed that it has been dubbed "Roundels" on this Wiki but I believe this is a poor term, as these are a staple of console rooms. In contrast, I would like to offer the term Diamond. While I know the material doesn't resemble diamond, it does have a high-end feeling, it was debuted for the diamond anniversary, and this would mirror terms such as coral, copper, neon, and crystal. If you have other suggestions, I would like to hear those as well but I quite like diamond.
EDIT: If it is to be distinguished from Ncuti's, perhaps 15's box could be the Jukebox. Anyway, It seems likely that they ought to be considered the same room and there will be more features in the future to draw the name from. Also, I didn't sign my post. Ah, well.

:The problem with that is the names of the other control rooms came from either offical sources (Coral was named onscreen, copper came from a BBC book) or were derived from their absolute defining feature (Neon has its lighting, Crystal has...well, crystals) - the only outlier would be the War console, but that was so named because it was the theme the War Doctor used during the Time War. 'Diamond' makes it sound like the room should be covered in, or at least heavily feature, diamonds, rather than because it debuted during the diamond anniversary. Same goes for 'Jukebox'; it's a single jukebox in an enormous room, and not really the most defining feature. At best, the most apt name would be either 'Disco Console', because it does sort of resemble the inside of a disco ball and has the many colour changing lights, or 'Tokamak Console' due to the set designer stating it takes reference from a tokamak generation. At an absolute push, I'd suggest 'Refined White', as it is the classic White with a new modern twist, but that's probably just me. I'll leave it up to the DW fandom to decide whether this merits inclusion in the article, but while rewatching Series 5 and the first half of Series 6, I spotted something of note: between The Pandorica Opens and A Christmas Carol, the central console platform's original railings were replaced by sturdier-looking ones.

Insperation for the tardis's new look?edit source

Could an abstract painting be behind the Eleventh Doctor's new console room? (Sigh... An abstract is a paitning with multiple mismatched shapes that form and imae, kinda like a puzzle.) SHOULD we put a line saying that the theme of the Eleventh's console room appears to be based on an abstract? (Forgetful 10th doctor fan talk to me 21:21, November 14, 2011 (UTC))

Later Eighth Doctor editedit source

The TARDIS completed its regeneration on Earth, after the Doctor exhausted its power in the destruction of Gallifrey

Shouldn't this be removed as we now know that Gallifrey wasn't destroyed? Also the line about regenerating 100 years for the Tardis seems out of place as Gallifrey wasn't destroyed. The preceding unsigned comment was added by 31.223.166.81 (talk).

Different destruction. From what I understand, the destruction of Gallifrey in the 1990s novels' War is a different event to the final day of the Last Great Time War and Gallifrey being sent to the pocket universe. Escape Velocity was released four years before The End of the World's first direct mention of the Time War the War Doctor fought in. Yeah, Doctor Who continuity is funny that way. -- Tybort (talk page) 12:59, October 16, 2014 (UTC)

Neon/"Toyota" Consoleedit source

The neon console used by the Eleventh Doctor since "The Snowmen" and modified by the Twelfth Doctor in "Deep Breath" has been renamed as the "Toyota console" by the user "Wizardel". I see nowhere in official DW media within episodes or otherwise that indicates that the console is called the "Toyota console". I believe that the name should be reverted to "Neon console" due to "Toyota" being a registered trademarked brand name that is not associated in any way with DW. I'm doing this through the talk page as I do not want my edit to simply be reverted and I wish to establish a consensus for support to change the article. Support please! The preceding unsigned comment was added by NickM98 (talk • contribs) .

I have to agree - "Toyota console" label is a total non sequitur and should be removed.

The term comes from page 104 of TEDW 2, but I've got to agree that it's not useful or as intuitive as "neon", and even knowing where it comes from still isn't exactly in line with T:VS. -- Tybort (talk page) 02:37, November 19, 2014 (UTC)

Removing "Toyota" one more time. It is not to be put back in the article unless there is a valid source for it. Shambala108 17:22, March 15, 2015 (UTC)

I think it should be changed back to toyota, the essential Doctor Who book has stated that it is called the Toyota, as stated by Michael Pickwoad. Images: http://imgur.com/a/OsvOx http://imgur.com/a/zg8SI I would do it if the page isn't protected. The preceding unsigned comment was added by 218.250.92.197 (talk).
And that's why the page is protected. The source you cited is not a valid source for in universe pages. The information will never be added to the page until/unless it comes from a valid source. Shambala108 15:03, November 17, 2016 (UTC)

I'm sorry, but how is a book from the BBC not valid? And where did "Neon" come from anyways? Shouldn't we be using the official names here? The preceding unsigned comment was added by 218.250.92.197 (talk).
