On 14 February 2019, Tasha convinced Sir Andrew to accept the retraction of Giles's resignation from P.R.O.B.E., which he had handed in the previous day due to being under the hypnotic influence of Stacey Facade, a love wraith. (WC: Stacey Facade [+]Loading...["Stacey Facade (webcast)"]) About two months before the Beltane case, which occurred a "few months" after the Stacey Facade affair, Tasha had another spat with her father, and asked Giles for advice on how to deal with it. On 9 January 2021, when needing quick access to the Ministry of Defence's surveillance networks despite not having done the proper paperwork, Giles decided against asking Sir Andrew for help, reasoning that it would still waste previous time even if he agreed. After Giles found his way to him nevertheless, and wound up unwittingly assisting him in his suicide some weeks later, Sir Andrew confessed to him that he was relieved the prisoner was dead, which cut through the Gordian knot of the ethical implications of his confinement by the government.
