John Crockett (31 January 1918-11 October 1986) directed "The Wall of Lies", the fourth episode of the Doctor Who television story Marco Polo. He later directed all of The Aztecs.
After studying art at Goldsmith's College, Crockett became an actor and director, founding the Compass Players in 1944. The touring company often performed at churches and school halls before closing in 1952. Crockett's brief television directing career saw him helm episodes of Suspense (1963) and Compact (1964). He later taught at Downside School, a Roman Catholic school near Bath from 1969-76. (INFO: "The Warriors of Death")
