The planet Barastabon was home to the Masterbakers of Barastabon, known for their high-quality confectionery.

Romana II went alone to Barastabon to get a sponge cake as a surprise for K9's birthday. The cake's trip through the Doctor's TARDIS, combined with the strange properties of the confectionery-based planet on which the crew had found themselves, caused the Cake to gain sentience. (PROSE: The Not-So-Sinister Sponge)

Romana also visited Barastabon with Clare Keightley to obtain edible ball bearings for the Doctor. (PROSE: Shada)

The Fifth Doctor offered to take Erimem and Peri to Barastabon to pick up a chocolate gateau. (AUDIO: The Church and the Crown)

A trivia question about the Masterbakers of Barastabon was among those asked of Mentos. (AUDIO: The One Doctor)

The Seventh Doctor recalled tasting the delights of the pastry chefs on Barastabon. (AUDIO: Bang-Bang-a-Boom!)

Iris Wildthyme was once taken out of time by the Masterbakers of Barastabon to collect the six lost slices of the Celestial Gateaux. (AUDIO: The Sound of Fear)
