On the journey from Cheng-Ting to Shang-Tu with Marco Polo's caravan, the First Doctor, Susan, and Barbara stayed in an inn north of the Great Wall of Cathay. It was located about 50 miles from the Summer Palace. This was the second inn they stayed in on the route from Cheng-Ting to Shang-Tu, having stayed another one south of the wall.
