The Diary of River Song: Series Five was a full cast audio anthology released in 22 January 2019 by Big Finish Productions. It starred River Song, played by Alex Kingston.

The Doctor isn't the only Time Lord River runs into on her travels up and down the timeline.

- The anthology was marketed as the first appearance of Eric Roberts as the Bruce Master since the television movie in 1996, after a 22 year hiatus.
- The anthology features the first appearance of a character introduced in the Twelfth Doctor era, Missy, after Big Finish's license was extended to include it.
- This is the first series of The Diary of River Song to not feature the Doctor, instead featuring four incarnations of their arch-enemy the Master.
- This is also the first series of The Diary of River Song to not feature a story written by Matt Fitton.
