The Golem of Prague was a powerful being created in the 16th century which went on a murderous rampage across Prague. (PROSE: Life from Lifelessness)

According to one account, when Susan tossed a part of a Liciax ship out of the TARDIS, it landed on Earth, and Rabbi Yehuda Loevy used the clay to create the Golem of Prague. When it proved too dangerous, the First Doctor had him lock it in an upstairs room of the Altneuschul. (PROSE: Life from Lifelessness)

According to another account, the Golem was created to fight the Mavora Collective. When the Mavora were spreading chaos through Prague, a sphere of psychic metal fell from the sky. Rabbi Judah Loew ben Bezalel used some of it to create The Sorrows of Prague, a book in which he imprisoned the Collective. The rest of the sphere merged with the mind of Gerhard Frankel, killing his body and creating the Golem.

In 1989, the Golem was destroyed while fighting the Mavora Queen. The sphere influenced Heather Lake to touch it, killing her and transforming her into the new Golem. It defeated the Collective, which had been freed from The Sorrows of Prague by Yuri Azarov. (COMIC: The Broken Man)
