Publisher's summary

None released. The following is the story summary provided in Doctor Who Magazine Issue 419:

Freakshow features the Fifth Doctor, Turlough and Tegan. Aboard the TARDIS, Turlough is recording his testimony. He tells the story of a past adventure - a visit to Buzzard Creek, on Earth. There he meets the enigmatic Thaddeus P Winklemeyer, who possesses a caged menagerie of unusual aliens. And he'd jump at the chance to add Turlough to his collection...

References

  • Thaddeus is a Vermaal.
  • The aliens in the Freakshow consist of:
    • "Aqua Boy" - no given name/race. A water-breather.

  • Smart implants were outlawed 8 centuries earlier by the Hexen-Brock treaty. The Doctor saved Jallican Brock from assassination by a Tamaranian death squad at the signing of the treaty.

Notes

  • The DWM download is considered a promotion for the Big Finish line, so the file begins with an introduction by Nicholas Briggs giving a brief history of the audios.
  • Freakshow was available to readers of Doctor Who Magazine issue 419 who went to the Big Finish website and entered a code to be found within the magazine.
  • The digital download offer was only available until 26th May 2010. Big Finish has announced that Freakshow will be reissued in The Companion Chronicles: The Specials, a box set scheduled for release in June 2011.[1]
