The Crumbling Magician was the fourth and final story in The First Doctor: Volume Three and featured Anneke Wills as Polly Wright and Elliot Chapman as Ben Jackson.

The TARDIS has crashed, its passengers in a bad way. The Doctor - not in the best of health anyway, his old body wearing somewhat thin - is in a coma, Ben unconscious. As for Polly, she's been affected worst of all. Time is running in the wrong order for her and she's seen the future, a future in which she's mortally wounded. But will Continuity allow her to die?

- Allie is a human from the Galtrax colony on Ursa IV. He is 8 years old, but aged rapidly after a temporal accident.

- The First Doctor's consciousness, and a small amount of his Time Lord DNA, is transplanted into Polly's body.

- While in Polly's body, the Doctor is enthusiastic of being young again. He will later tell the Twelfth Doctor that he hoped to get younger when regenerating. (TV: Twice Upon a Time)
