Rumours

  • Davros returns, with the Daleks in this episode, and its prequel.
  • Some speculate that Davros, or the Daleks is trapped under the rift at the Medusa Cascade which is the reason that the Doctor sealed it.
  • According to The Sun newspaper, a red Dalek will appear at Davros's side.
  • Before the Master died he opened the Medusa Cascade and then transfered his soul into his ring which was consequently picked up by Harriet Jones. Harriet now knowing the power of the ring released Davros was forced to become/willingly became a Dalek. - Unlikely, as RTD has said that the Master's ring will not play a part in series 4, appearing in a later series instead. It Wouldn't be the first time RTD has misinformed regarding The Master.
  • The Doctor will have been captured and transported to the Cruciform to help the Daleks win the Time War.
  • At least one character will die, as their "journey" comes to an "end". This is likely to be Donna, as Catherine Tate has confirmed that she is leaving at the end of the series. (Highly unlikely as it's thought that Donna will be kept alive, and from footage on Youtube she's in the final couple of scenes).
  • The Doctor splits in two in the dying moments of the episode. Unlikely as in the 2008 Christmas Special there is just one Doctor. However the other Doctor could go with Rose back into the parallel universe.
  • Gwen, Ianto, Rhys or PC Andy could make a cameo appearance. Only Gareth David Lloyd (Ianto) has hinted at a cameo appearance.
  • Other characters rumoured to make an appearance are Francine, Tish, Leo, Tom Milligan, Clive, Pete and Jake
  • One HUGE rumour is that Geoff Noble will make a cameo appearance, in a scene filmed by Howard Attfield for Partners in Crime before he passed away. Russell T. Davies has edited the scene to make it look like Geoff is talking to Donna from beyond the grave...
  • The Judoon will appear.
  • Episode 12 is called War On Skaro - apparently proved by a 'War on Skaro' toy range being made available on http://www.play.com
  • Martha leaves with Captain Jack for Torchwood.
  • At the end of the episode Martha is married to Tom Milligan, Rose is sent back to the Parallel World or killed (however it is most likely she will survive as she is in the 2009 specials), Donna is either killed or may even be forced to stay on Earth, Jack leaves with Martha to go to Torchwood, Mickey starts dating one of the other companions/family member (most likely to be Tish Jones), K-9 goes back to closing the black hole after a small appearance. The Doctor leaves alone.
  • At the end of this episode the TARDIS lands in Victorian London. The Doctor steps out and a Cyberman appears with the trademark DELETE!.
  • Jenny will return.
  • The Brigadier will return or will feature in the story somehow, hence the reference to him in The Poison Sky.
  • Donna is possessed by the Racnoss after being bitten by the spider in The Runaway Bride. This is what she has "on her back" according to The Fires of Pompeii. She is secretly responsible for the return of Davros, but loses her memories at the end of the episode. The Doctor, deciding it would be too cruel to tell her the truth, allows her to leave with her family.
  • The cybermen return to have another war with the daleks and davros
  • The phrase "The bees are disappearing" could be that they are falling into the void
