The Dalek Appeal (TV story)
The Dalek Appeal, or Missing Dalek Appeal[1] was a story that was broadcast on an episode of Blue Peter in response to the fact that the two Daleks were stolen. As it seemingly breaks the fourth wall, framing the Daleks simultaneously as fictional characters and as genuine, talking aliens, it is not considered a valid source by this Wiki.

Synopsis[[edit] | [edit source]]
Two Daleks have gone missing, and a Dalek has an urgent message for Blue Peter viewers.
Plot[[edit] | [edit source]]
At the end of a Blue Peter segment, presenter Peter Purves adds a "special SOS": two of "Doctor Who's Daleks" have gone "missing", having been stolen from right in front of the BBC Television Centre on 22 May after they were brought back from Cardiff. After they give a description of the stolen Daleks, the presenters cede the floor to a live Dalek who glides up to their sofa to give a personal appeal.
The Dalek states that the missing Daleks were members of the Earth Observation Delegation, and, encouraging viewers to assist the "humanoid police" in their inquiries, it states that if the abductees are returned unharmed to their people, the Daleks will generously assume that their theft was not a hostile act but simply an "excess of hospitality". Otherwise, the Dalek Supreme Council will initiate "Search and Find Procedure", which is likely to result in the extermination of the culprits.
