Battle of Hastings

The Battle of Hastings was a conflict fought between Saxon king Harold Godwinson and Norman leader William the Conqueror at Hastings, (TV: The Time Meddler) as part of the Norman Conquest of England, (TV: Co-Owner of a Lonely Heart) resulting in the death of Harold. The Monk tried to prevent the Norman victory by destroying a Viking fleet off the Northumbrian coast, but was stopped by the First Doctor. (TV: The Time Meddler)

The Eighth Doctor and his companion Mary Shelley met King Harold during the battle. (AUDIO: Mary's Story)

The TARDIS' helmic regulator was hit and incapacitated by an arrow when the Eleventh Doctor visited the battle. (WC: Pond Life)

The Shopkeeper had an arrow with a bloodstain on it in his shop. According to the Shopkeeper, some said that the arrow was pulled from the eye of King Harold himself after the Battle of Hastings. Rani Chandra replied that she read online that some said that he wasn't shot in the eye at all. The Shopkeeper added that the tapestry of time was a fragile thing, and that applying the slightest pressure could cause the threads of history to unravel. (TV: Lost in Time)
