Galen (Arrangements for War)

Galen was one of three countries on the planet Világ.

It's political system was that of a hereditary monarchy, although the executive powers of the monarchy had become largely symbolic by the time the Sixth Doctor and Evelyn came there. Nevertheless the royal family was still revered and seen as "role models, if not policymakers" according to the Sixth Doctor. (AUDIO: Arrangements for War).

History 

Galen had been at war for nearly a century with the second largest country on the planet, another monarchy called Malendia. The Kingdom Alliance, going to be created through the marriage between Krisztina, the Princess of Galen, and Viktor, Prince of Malendia, which would then end the war. There were some violent attacks from anti-Alliance factions in opposition to this, the worst being the attack on the Galen palace itself, organised by Plenipotentiary Suskind. The broke out again after it was revealed that Krisztina was still secretly in love with Reid. The Galen ambassador to Melanida was one of 18 killed in a drive by shooting in Malendia.(AUDIO: Arrangements for War).

It was attacked as part of the invasion by the Killorans. (AUDIO: Arrangements for War) who then returned a year later.

It was later absorbed along with the other two countries of Világ into the the Triumvirate, lead over by the Principal Triumvir. (AUDIO: Thicker Than Water).

Flora and Fauna edit

Galen had fish, as well as Xenoblossoms, flowers which when a wind blew across them caused vibrations and harmonics, which could be hypnotic to older people such as Evelyn (AUDIO: Arrangements for War).
