Space station

A space station was a form of spacecraft that was constructed with the intention of remaining in a fixed position in space. On occasion they were placed in orbit around a planet or other celestial body for a variety of purposes.

Space stations sometimes were called other things, such as Nerva Beacon. However the design and function of the beacon was still that of a space station. (TV: Revenge of the Cybermen)

Space stations

Dalek space stations

Space stations operated by the Daleks included Sky Seven Space Station, (COMIC: Eve of War) the Crucible, (TV: Journey's End) the Dalek command station (PROSE: Engines of War) and the Dalek space station. (COMIC: Return of the Daleks)

During the Last Great Time War, Dalek space stations were built with minimal artificial gravity as Daleks could magnetise themselves to the floor or even fly in the event of a hull breach. (PROSE: Engines of War)

At the beginning of the New Dalek Paradigm, they established several "space fortresses", built along the borders of the Draconian, Sontaran and Morok Empires. (PROSE: Dalek: The Astounding Untold History of the Greatest Enemies of the Universe)

Human space stations

Space stations operated by humans included Medusa, (AUDIO: Three's a Crowd [+]Loading...["Three's a Crowd (audio story)"]) Nerva Beacon, (TV: The Ark in Space [+]Loading...["The Ark in Space (TV story)"], Revenge of the Cybermen [+]Loading...["Revenge of the Cybermen (TV story)"]) Space Station Q4, (PROSE: The Dimension Riders [+]Loading...["The Dimension Riders (novel)"]) Space Station W3, (TV: The Wheel in Space [+]Loading...["The Wheel in Space (TV story)"]) Satellite Five, (TV: The Long Game [+]Loading...["The Long Game (TV story)"]) Dark Space 8, (AUDIO: Bang-Bang-a-Boom! Time Lord space stations

Space Station Zenobia was a space station operated by the Time Lords. (TV: The Mysterious Planet, et al.)

During the Last Great Time War, the release of the Great Vampires from their prison was overseen by Time Lords on Space Station Zenobia II. (COMIC: The Bidding War)

Following the war, the Monk sought revenge on Missy and imprisoned her on his space station. She quickly managed to escape but before she could unleash her rage on him, the station was invaded by the Ogrons who took them both prisoner. (AUDIO: Too Many Masters)

Some time after the Division began to expand across time and space, a control centre was built in the void between this universe and the next to hide their activities. Within one of the domes of the station was a Seed Vault to store genetic traces of their home universe. (TV: Survivors of the Flux)

Other space stations

Davros was held in suspended animation on a prison station that was later attacked by the Daleks. (TV: Resurrection of the Daleks)

Platform One was a space station used as an observation deck for a multitude of beings to witness the destruction of Earth in the year 5 billion, including the Ninth Doctor and Rose Tyler. (TV: The End of the World)
