Starman

I was wondering if you could help me with something. I'm working on The Beast of Babylon right now and the main enemy is Starman (The Beast of Babylon). However, his species is also a Starman, so I created Starman (species) and that's when I realized that there was also a David Bowie song called Starman. I put a speedy rename request on that to change it to Starman (song) and since there's now three Starman pages, I know we'll also need a disambiguation page.

However, the Ninth Doctor also refers to another Starman that he encountered and trapped in the twenty-sixth dimension and by doing so inadvertently created the Starman (The Beast of Babylon). So how would I label a page for the Starman that's trapped in the twenty-sixth dimension, since they are both referenced in The Beast of Babylon, but only one can have that page name? I was just thinking, the main enemy Starman is sometimes referred to as the Beast or the Great Beast by ancient Babylonians. He has no official name though and he's mainly referred to as the Starman, with the Beast and the Great Beast coming in as the next most used nicknames, respectively. (In the very latter part of the text.) I'm not sure how acceptable either of those would be though, since they aren't what he's primarily referred to as. But I guess it's something that could be considered since this is unique situation. Request for the Doctor Who Page

Hey, I found this picture of a British Paper from 1963 talking about Doctor Who as an upcoming television series. The article was written 2 days before the premiere of An Unearthly Child

Fingers are crossed that they find more lost episodes... I'm re-watching the classic series (still on season 1) and it's a shame that Marco Polo was never recovered.. which is peculiar because out of all the missing episodes, it was broadcast in the largest number of foreign stations. If we find another episode.. I'm putting my bet on this episode. ...That is if you truly believe they didn't find it in Nigeria..

Information has been provided to DWA which apparently provides a list of what episodes were recovered. This list was allegedly posted online in June of this year and comes from a very good source (not the original poster, if indeed there was one). This isn't what Czech has said on the same page. In fact, he suggests the opposite: "...replacing murky language that was written as if this were an in-universe language. we can speak in a normal voice on a story page." Now, you may prefer it to be in-universe, but there is no rule saying that this must be so, and when trying to write a point on a story page in a way that connects this to another story page, out-of-universe points are by far more effective. TV story pages are to be written in an out-of-universe fashion, no matter the section. Capaldi talk page

Could we have the talk page for Peter Capaldi unlocked, please? Talk pages must never be locked anyway because that's where people can request changes be made. For example, the use of the phrase "wordless" in describing Capaldi's appearance in DOTD is debateable as there are published reviews in reputable media that have indicated it is Capaldi saying the words "No, sir, all 13". Even if this is not the case, this needs to be indicated in the article. There may well be other corrections worthy of suggestion. Silver Nemesis

How do you suggest Silver Nemesis be edited to account for the lizard not being a chameleon? Without referencing chameleons it's hard to say why it makes the Doctor think of cloaking devices. Would you rather I just edit it to "lizard" and destroy the chameleon reference altogether, or put it down as a production error that the lizard isn't a chameleon?– The preceding unsigned comment was added by 5.70.193.241 (talk).

After a bit of thinking, I came up with something like this (and feel free to change it however it needs to fit in the surrounding text): "The Doctor spots a lizard hiding in plain sight against foliage, and realizes the Cyber fleet is shrouded." I just wanted to ask a question about the spoiler policy: Does the spoiler policy specifically forbid mentioning titles of future stories? Christmas cheer

Happy holidays!

As this fiftieth anniversary year comes to a close, we here at Tardis just want to thank you for being a part of our community — even if you haven't edited here in a while. If you have edited with us this year, then thanks for all your hard work.

This year has seen an impressive amount of growth. We've added about 11,000 pages this year, which is frankly incredible for a wiki this big. November was predictably one of the busiest months we've ever had: over 500 unique editors pitched in. It was the highest number of editors in wiki history for a year in which only one programme in the DWU was active. And our viewing stats have been through the roof. We've averaged well over 2 million page views each week for the last two months, with some weeks seeing over 4 million views!

We've received an unprecedented level of support from Wikia Staff, resulting in all sorts of new goodies and productive new relationships. And we've recently decided to lift almost every block we've ever made so as to allow most everyone a second chance to be part of our community.

2014 promises to build on this year's foundations, especially since we've got a full, unbroken series coming up — something that hasn't happened since 2011. We hope you'll stick with us — or return to the Tardis — so that you can be a part of the fun!

TARDIS chicks article and its creator should be removed or something. The creator isn't acting properly.

Thank you for notifying me that my image needed a license, though I was a bit miffed when I saw that my image had been deleted "for violating policy". You included the specific reason in the deletion log, but it still would have been helpful for me to at least be notified of the deletion. Regardless of my meaningless strife, I have a question to ask: are categories like The Time of the Doctor TV story images meant for every screenshot of that particular episode? Implications of The Gift

Hey, so The Gift was released in 2005. Yet Doctors who weren't even created until later than that are now said on the wiki to have attended the Brig's funeral. I've got someone asking me if that means Capaldi was there too. I have to believe that's impossible, because then Eleven wouldn't have believed that he was going to die a natural death in Time of the Doctor. Could you please re-read the passage where the Doctor says his other selves are there for the exact language. Is there any interpretation of the passage which puts a limitation on the number of incarnations involved? Or can the whole volume of Short Trips: The History of Christmas be said to chronicle only the adventures of One-Eight?

Production errors

Regarding the recent deletion of my contributions regarding the Tardis prop, although, I would agree perhaps regarding the Unearthly Child contribution concerning the differing props and changes. I beg to differ on the War Machines production error of the difference between film and studio sequence when the Tardis prop altered. I.e. as this is a glaring error this contribution should have remained. Example: why have you kept my contribution regarding The Enemy of World, regarding the 'Pull to Open' sign appearing on the wrong side of the door?

By definition 'Production Errors' are whereby an on screen mistake has occurred that should not have happened, therefore, in continuity terms a lock changing sides in a matter of a few minutes of the same scene, whether part location or studio, is in my opinion a production error, rather than the comment you made on my talk page about "cardboard Daleks and tardis prop model changes". That particular glaring error is as significant as a boom microphone in shot and/or creased photo roundels backdrop visable in shot stated in an article I noticed in the 'production error' note in Unearthly Child.

After watching Dr Who since it's first transmission, audio recording episodes from 1964 and an avid collector of all things Dr Who, I would like to share my extensive knowledge of the programme if exceptable. Naturally, I would wish to abide by the rules of this Wiki, but there should be continuity on the part of your admin of the site regarding the examples I have given above. I really appreciate and understand your answers to my concerns etc. I shall take a look at your suggestions, as I am relatively new to this wiki and naturally on a 'learning curve' regarding the policies of this particular Wiki. I assure you I will abide to the rules and make posts and information within the correct sections in the future, and only too pleased to receive feedback and guidance in any future errors or mistakes that I may possibly make in the future.
