Slapping
Slapping was the act of striking a target with an open hand. Slapping a person across the face was a common form of physical assault.

After the Ninth Doctor returned Rose Tyler to Earth in 2006 following a 12-month absence, her mother, Jackie, having spent all that time frantic with worry over her daughter's unexplained disappearance, angrily slapped him.
