Thomas Rodden was the deckhand for Terra Nova ship that Robert Scott was sailing to Antarctica. He showed the Sixth Doctor and Melanie Bush from the harbour. Patricia McBride offered him £200 to not get on the ship and go home. In 1911, he was a chauffeur in Newcastle and met Martha Curtis who he later married.
