Lapel

A lapel was a part of a coat or jacket.

Worn by the Doctor

The First Doctor had peaked lapels on his double-breasted frock coat of plain black velvet. (TV: An Unearthly Child-The Tenth Planet, The Three Doctors, The Five Doctors, The Day of the Doctor, Twice Upon A Time)

The Third Doctor wore velvet blazers. Some had notched lapels. (TV: The Green Death, Invasion of the Dinosaurs, Death to the Daleks) He also wore some with peaked lapels. (TV: Carnival of Monsters, Planet of the Daleks, The Monster of Peladon, Planet of the Spiders [+])

The Fifth Doctor had notched lapels with scarlet trims on his beige frock coat, (TV: Castrovalva-Warriors of the Deep) and also on his silver grey overcoat. (TV: The Awakening-The Caves of Androzani)

The Sixth Doctor's rainbow frock coat featured amber and pink lapels. The Curator had notched lapels on an olive tweed blazer when he took the form of an older Fourth Doctor. (TV: The Day of the Doctor; COMIC: The Then and the Now) He also had peaked lapels on a double-breasted frock coat of burgundy moleskin when he took the form of an older Sixth Doctor, (AUDIO: Crossed Lines) and notched lapels on a single-breasted frock coat of wine and peach pinstripe with the same appearance. The Warrior, a parallel version of the Doctor's fifth incarnation which looks similar to the sixth, had lapels on a double-breasted trenchcoat of chocolate brown leather similar to the War Doctor of N-Space. (AUDIO: Aftershocks [+])
